New episode out now.

Technology can organize information, automate repetitive tasks, and help businesses move faster.

What it can't replace are relationships, judgment, and the conversations that build trust.

In this episode of The Breakout Moment, Christina and Dondre Lawson, founder and CEO of Emerald Technical Solutions, discuss how AI and automation are changing business operations, why strategy still matters, and how the best use of technology may be creating more time for meaningful work.

They also explore why business leaders should pay attention to younger voices entering the workforce, and how fresh perspectives can help companies stay connected to changing customer expectations.

Everyone is looking for ways to move faster.

Faster reporting. Faster communication. Faster decisions.

But speed alone doesn't build a stronger business.

In this week's episode of The Breakout Moment, Christina explores how business owners can use AI and technology to reduce administrative burden, uncover insights faster, and create more time for the work that matters most.

Because customer relationships, strategic thinking, and meaningful conversations are still at the center of every great business.

Construction 🀝 Pink

An unexpected but powerful pairing.

In today's episode of The Breakout Moment, Christina May sits down with the founder of Integrity Construction Group to talk about building a successful company in an industry where women are often still underestimated.

One of the most refreshing parts of the conversation is that she never tried to fit someone else's idea of what a construction leader should look like. She built credibility the same way every business owner does: by showing up, doing the work, and delivering results.

The pink stays, and so do the standards.

The newest episode of The Breakout Moment is now live!

So many companies say people are their greatest asset, but fewer businesses are actually building out the systems, mentorship, and trust required to develop future leaders before they're needed.

In this episode, Aaron Shapiro of Shapiro and Duncan, Inc. shares what leadership transition looked like inside a third-generation mechanical contracting company after the unexpected loss of a key family leader, along with his perspective on investing in people and creating an environment where future leaders have room to grow.

Most owners don't think about succession planning until they are already in the middle of a crisis.

Tomorrow on The Breakout Moment, Christina and Aaron Shapiro with Shapiro and Duncan, Inc. talk through the realities of succession planning by fire long before they feel "ready" for it. Leadership bottlenecks, knowledge living in one person's head, training that gets pushed aside because everyone is busy, and the pressure of keeping a business afloat when the rug has been pulled out from under you.

This will be a must-watch for any business owner trying to build something that will grow and last beyond themselves.

It's not always a lack of work or demand that causes businesses to hit a growth ceiling. Very often, they begin experiencing issues when communication breaks down between owners, teams, clients, and leadership.

The next episode of The Breakout Moment gets into the human side of scaling a business and why relationships will only matter more as a company grows, not less.

Brett Snyder leads The GreenBench Companies, a firm that helps clients manage construction projects from early planning through ex*****on.

They work primarily in residential and commercial projects, with an emphasis on coordination, accountability, and guiding clients through complex decisions.

When a client came to them with a new opportunity in school construction, they hesitated. It was not part of their core expertise, introducing different stakeholders and expectations.

Instead of passing, they leaned into what they already did well and applied it in a new setting. That decision led to multiple school projects down the line and created stability when other parts of the market slowed down.

This episode is a grounded look at how businesses grow in real life, where the right move is not always obvious and the best opportunities often feel unfamiliar at first.

Many business leaders are waiting for a clear signal that it's time to make the next move, but in reality, there won't always be one.

The opportunity might even come from outside of your usual lane, from a client conversation, and sound like a huge stretch for your team. It did for our next guest.

The episode focuses on how those moments actually shape the direction of a business and why waiting for something bigger can keep you in the same place longer than expected.

The newest episode is live.

Spencer Teel is the second-generation leader of TEEL Construction, Inc., a commercial general contractor based in Virginia with nearly 40 years in business, a team of around 100 people, and a project portfolio with brands like Amazon Fresh, PNC Bank, Aldi, and Delta Sky Club.

He started at the company at just 14 years old, and in 2021, nearly 2 decades later, burnout caught up with him, affecting more than just his headspace.

This conversation walks through how that showed up, what helped create a reset, and how the company came back to a simple idea that had always been its motto:

Built to Serve.

One line that stays with you:
β€œIf you focus on people first, the spreadsheet takes care of itself.”
