I remember when we could play kickball in the streets, hopscotch, ride bikes, visit and sit on the porch, don't forget house parties, and the student center on Fort Valley State. We walked the halls of the school and not be afraid, maybe of Mr Lightfoot, we got a paddling or suspension and go a ear full when we got home. Friday night football games, hanging out afterwards. We had Big Mama, and Grand Daddy, auntie, uncles, cousins, big sisters and brothers, THE REAL ONES..... No one died because of a gun because of a dispute because we fought and talked the next day. When was the last time you saw a butterfly 🤔. Eaten a black berry off a vine? A wild plum? Watched the sunset? .. Watched the street light come on an reminisced? Roller skate? Watched the old cartoons? This was living. We didn't have the distractions like they have now and the influence thats shaping young minds. Today's society is saying its ok to behave a certain way , regardless of the consequences. Its not teaching accountability, integrity, responsibility or character. Nor is it working on mental and emotional health. They are being held hostage by social media and the world itself. They are saying this is how and whom you're supposed to be and how to act. Thats a lie from the pits of hell. We can't prevent them from going the school but whenever they have questions.. tell them the TRUTH . IF WE DON'T SOMEONE ELSE WILL TELL THEIR TRUTH. Their truth is to possibly whats causing the confusion. I pray that the conversation that I have had with you helps.....
