As of yesterday, these were the drones that were seized in each of the FIFA World Cup Host Cities…
Why were they seized? Because either recreational flyers or unlicensed drone pilots, out doing work with their drones, failed to obey The Law!!
Here’s the sad part, if they were on a job site, say a Construction Site or a Real Estate Shoot, and were Unlicensed, not only did they get their drones seized but the drone operator, the Realtor, the GC or Subcontractor could have also been FINED!! And this is an expensive lesson to learn, all because someone wanted to save a few bucks and DIY it or hire a cheap Unlicensed Pilot!!
All drone pilots, especially recreational pilots, should have completed their Trust Certification. And those of us that use our drones to actually provide actionable data for people or visuals that our Clients can use to sell their real estate or to market their business or their event have to be Licensed! And both of these groups of people, the Trust Certified Recreational Flyer and the “I use my drone as a tool for people” Certified Pilots, would have known to check the airspace before ever taking our drones out of their cases! And therefore they would have seen the TFR’s that were in place at each of these locations!!
And this is a prime example of why you ALWAYS use a Licensed, Insured and Professional Drone Pilot on all of your jobs!!
