A father told his daughter, "Congrats on your graduation. I bought you a car a while back. I want you to have it now."

Before I give it to you, take it to a car dealer in the city and sell it. See how much they offer.”

The girl came back to her father and said: "They offered me $10,000 dollars because it looks very old"

Father said: "Ok, now take it to the pawn shop".

The girl returns to her father and said: "The pawn shop offered $1,000 dollars because it's a very old car and a lot of work done".

The father told her to join a passionate car club with experts and show them the car.

The girl drove to the passionate car club.

She returned to her father after a few hours and told him, “Some people in the club offered me $100,000 dollars because its a rare car that's in good condition.”

Then the father said, "I wanted to let you know that you are not worth anything if you are not in the right place. If you are not appreciated, do not be angry, that means you are in the wrong place. Don't stay in a place where no one sees your value ."

Know your worth and know where you are valued. A diamond doesn't shine on the bottom of a cave.

Some folks have messaged me over the last few days to let me know that they saw my 13yo son walking up Main street alone.
#1 - I appreciate y'all reaching out, and I'm so lucky to have friends that will.
#2 - You didn't see me but I was there too, hopping from parking lot to parking lot watching him. I knew my son was walking by himself through some rough & high traffic neighborhoods....

Because I told him to.

Because he forgot how to treat adults, I told him to walk.
Because he mistakenly associated his size with his authority, I told him to walk.
Because his behavior on the bus jeopardized the safety of the other children on that bus, I told him to walk.

Until he can appreciate the free ride to/from school as well as respect & obey the man driving that bus, he's not getting back on it. I'm the mom who is watching to know that he's safe. But I'm also the mom who is not here to be his friend. I'm the mom who is okay with her child being angry at her sometimes. I'm the mom who is desperate to leave this world better than I found it, through the people I'm bringing into/up in it.

A lot of people are so afraid to hurt their kid's feelings, but he'll only be mad at me for a little while.
I'm more afraid of my kid growing up to be an as***le, which isn't usually a temporary description.

We're not here to be their friends, yall. We're here to make sure they grow up to become a friend worth having. So yeah... he was walking. Thinking. Reflecting. Maturing. Learning. Growing.
And I'm watching. 🖤

**Please be aware of this upcoming travel delay or interruption.**

The Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient Motorcade will take place on Wednesday, April 20, along I-35W and I-35 northbound through Denton County in route to Gainesville, the Medal of Honor Host City. Law Enforcement, Fire Departments, Emergency Services, Veterans, Denton County officials including Denton County Judge Andy Eads and others will join in the motorcade in honor of the recipients.

Current estimates are expecting the motorcade to stretch 8-9 miles long with well over 550 vehicles participating. At this time we are expecting the motorcade to leave the staging area on the South end of DFW Airport tentatively between 3 p.m. – 5 p.m.

With such a significant number of participants, citizens traveling along this motorcade route need to be aware of traffic delays that will occur during this short time span. Public safety agencies are requesting that citizens be aware of the motorcade and pull to the right lanes when approached from behind.

Additionally, some parts of Hwy 183, 360, 114, 121 and many access points along I-35 W and I-35E will be temporarily shut down as agencies work to get the motorcade onto the roadway and es**rt these honored guests from DFW on to their destination in Gainesville.
