Had an awesome time visiting the Alachua County Farmers' Market this weekend and meeting so many incredible local vendors, makers, bakers, artists, and small businesses.

Gainesville really does have an amazing local business community.

Dr. Maria Maine does incredible hands-on bodywork and rehabilitation work for horses in the Ocala area, and we had such a fun time helping design and build a website for El Colorado Equine Rehab Services that reflects the care and expertise behind what she does.

The best part was getting to spend the day at the farm capturing photos and video of the horses! Getting to work around horses all day definitely made this a memorable project!

Huge thanks to Dr. Maria for trusting us with it!

We recently got to work with Swanz Premier Realty LLC on a social media video project, and we’re really proud of how it turned out!

This is the first of a large batch of content we’ll be creating together as part of an ongoing social media partnership. Every month, we’re producing multiple videos and branded graphics for Swanz Premier Realty, with even more content planned moving forward.

Our goal was to create a video that didn’t just advertise a business, but genuinely showcased Swanzetta’s personality, philosophy, and brand in a way that feels authentic and engaging.

We collaborated on scripting, filmed the content, edited everything, and published it across Facebook and Instagram to help tell her story and connect with her audience in a real way.

That’s what we love doing most: helping businesses and professionals tell their story in a way that connects with people.

In just the past year, 49 lawsuits have hit local businesses, including 𝘚𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘭’𝘴 𝘗𝘪𝘻𝘻𝘢, 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘖𝘗, 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦, 𝘕𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘸𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘚𝘦𝘢𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥, and many more, over website accessibility issues.

For most, the lawsuits came with 𝘯𝘰 𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨, and once you're served, it's too late to fix it without paying thousands in legal fees and settlements. Some local businesses have already spent over $30,000 just to settle.

I can't say it's all-inclusive, but I wracked my brain trying to get as many on there as I could.

Over the holidays, the local rescue Plenty of Pit Bulls (POPB) received a hurtful email filled with misinformation about pit bulls. The writer called on them to stop rescuing pitbulls, which he called “four-legged time bombs.”

Instead of ignoring it, they turned it into an opportunity to educate, advocate, and fundraise with their “Educate Eric” Campaign.

With just two unboosted Facebook posts, POPB raised over $1,000—far surpassing their $100 goal.

This is a prime example of a smart marketing and fund-raising strategy generating a lot of positive buzz and money.

POPB didn’t need an advertising budget. They had a committed following they connected with.

This isn’t just a great lesson for rescue organizations like POPB. Any business or organization can learn from this example of turning negativity into positive results through the impact of a deep connection with an audience.

𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 was a year of big 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 for 𝗚𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲. 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁. 😢

𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 ice cream shop, where I took my daughter after daycare, closed around this time last year. 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲, where I bought my dog food, shut down after 30 years. And after 11 years, 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗲 closed. Margaritas on their patio were the best! 🍹

The owners of 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀 had to sell recently. While 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴, I can’t imagine having to sell my restaurant after over 10 years. I really hope the new owners keep the same vibe; I had my 15th birthday party there, then walked over to the 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 - which, let’s be real, probably isn’t going to be open much longer, either. 🎬

𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗼 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼, 𝗣𝗿𝘂𝗺’𝘀 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻, 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗕𝗼𝗶𝗹, and 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲. All gone last year. 😔

Meanwhile, 2024 saw Gainesville open a 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀, a 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲, another 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘅, a 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗱’𝘀 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲, a 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁, a few 𝗙𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀, and whatever else is growing out in 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲.

And we’re getting a 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝗹𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 in 2025! And another 𝗔𝗹𝗱𝗶! And 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵!

𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲; so were my 𝗱𝗮𝗱, 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗺, and 𝗺𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿. Change is a part of any growing town, and long-time residents here have seen 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗼𝗿𝘀. I’m happy our town is growing, but it’s 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 to see friends and neighbors 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 and to see 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗴𝗼 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀. 💔

And sadly, 𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 that many of these businesses were struggling 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲. If more of us had known, 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲.🙁

These days, hard work and treating people well just aren’t enough. Businesses 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗 an 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 presence to 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁 and 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 - 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀! 🙌
