I was contacted by a person claiming to he Gustavo Lopez to ask for an order of 3 dozen strawberries once I told him that our discount was $20 a dozen this month he asked if I accepted Zelle. I then let him know that we only accept cash upon pick up or PayPal and Cashapp. He proceeded to ask my PayPal info so I gave it to him. I received an email in my spam folder stating that He would need to send an additional $300 as my account isn’t a business account. However it is a business account when I called the number on the back of my PayPal card it said I’d need to call on business hours. So okay it’s Sunday I understand they are closed. I told the customer that I’d have to get back to him on Monday morning after I contacted him about the issue instead he kept wanting me to call the number from the spam email which isn’t the number on the back of my PayPal business card.

So I asked him to wait until tomorrow so I he can pay the $60 dollars on paypal or upon pick up the $60 dollars in cash.
He wanted to send the $360 now and me send the $300 back someone I don’t know and once I send the $300 back I’d be out $300 if he is scamming me.

Then he goes on to say that he has been robbed okay anyone who knows me and my business knows I don’t rob my customers and My pick up location is at my business which is two block down from the court and the police department.

I explained that heck I would have met him at the police station for him to pick up his chocolate covered strawberries if needed. But he insisted I send him back the extra $300 instead I said no I won’t do it. Period I’m not ignorant and I know there are scammers out here and I’d be out $300 dollars so I went to look up what it said about this issue and it said it is a scam so I said I’ll contact PayPal tomorrow and find out what’s going on and This man said he is reporting me for trying to scam him and blocked me. When he is actually the scammer. Be very careful for this type of scam business owners and entrepreneurs because they are out there. I couldn’t report Gustavo Lopez for scamming because he blocked me first.
so be aware of this name and of what scam he is pulling everyone.
