Last week, I spent several afternoons with the urban leadership program at Gallatin Shalom Zone helping their students develop ideas for the GSZ version of Shark Tank.

This is my third year working with students to develop ideas to pitch, and to be honest? They just keep getting better. This year, I was especially encouraged by the way that all three ideas were philanthropic. The kids see things that need to be changed and they want to do something about it (and tbf, we could all learn something from them).

Thank you to the staff of Shalom Zone for welcoming me back each year. It’s one of the highlights of my summer! 🫶🏻

My girl Allie4TNon the cover of Washington Post (thanks to our amazing new friend Molly). It has been a wild, wild week in campaign land and I have the bags under my eyes to prove it, but I’m SO proud.

In the midst of that, I also wrapped up a website project I’ve been working on for a while and can’t WAIT to share it with you later on. 💕 It’s a great week to love what you do!

It’s been fifty-one years TODAY since the Supreme Court issued their Roe v. Wade decision. Then, last year, Tennessee took away that right from Tennessee women.

If you’re in a room with five women, it’s likely that at least one of them has had an abortion. A lot of them will never feel comfortable talking about it.

My friend Allie has a heartbreaking story and I’m so honored that she let me share it on the podcast. Part one has already dropped and part two is on the way shortly. I hope you’ll listen.

I’m thankful for women like Allie who speak up and speak out.

This was me taking a business call while supervising a photoshoot for a client. It looks staged, but it’s not - and that’s why I love it so much.

It’s been one year today since I decided that doing my own thing was the best step forward. In the past 365 days, I have:

- built more than a dozen websites
- helped eleven businesses tell their stories by developing a brand
- recorded and shared fifteen podcast episodes
- taught at two conferences
- worked on four political campaigns
- given time + talent to half a dozen nonprofits
…and learned how to run my own business (mostly) successfully.

I am so proud of myself - for the work I’ve done and for being brave enough to do it. I’m also THANKFUL to Nick for believing in me every single damn day, even when I didn’t believe in myself.

The first episode of Story Garden Season 2 drops tomorrow and I hope you’ll listen to it. It’s a good one.
