This is another throwback from last year that I haven't shared yet.

It was great to produce a few of these flyers for Drag Fantasy Live's Lights! Camera! Drag!! Events like this one, which took place at The Pemberton in Phoenix, were produced by DJ Image.

As a self-taught designer and creative strategist, I continue to assist LGBTQ+ creatives build business identities that grow with them and amplify their voices and their messaging.

POV: Beginning layers of the PrideFest flyer.

First, I want to let you know that I am not AI and I am the human generating the designs. I got a message asking if these were AI-generated. Nope.

Full transparency: I have noticed that some images in the Adobe Stock library appear to be AI-generated. However, I primarily use my own work and stock imagery that is not AI-generated, as I deeply respect the creative process and the value of original artistry. I personally prefer working with original artwork and find collaborating with artists and photographers far more meaningful and creatively rewarding. I also encourage clients to help keep the arts alive by supporting and employing working creatives whenever possible.

In some cases, I may use AI-generated images provided by clients if they align with the overall design, creative direction, and goals of the project.

I designed the flyers for the PrideFest event series, presented and produced by DJ Image. Throughout June, PrideFest AZ will host multiple Pride Month events across Arizona. I posted the Flagstaff design and the Phoenix design is the next in the series for print and social media.

For more than 20 years, I’ve worked as a self-taught creative strategist and graphic designer specializing in event marketing, event design, and visual storytelling for LGBTQ+ entertainers and producers.

I want to help make events instantly recognizable, easy to understand, and impossible to ignore at a glance.

I design visuals to tell a story. I want people to feel the energy, understand the vibe, and want to be there the moment they see it.

I am honored to lead the creative direction and design of DJ Image’s PrideFest festivities across Arizona this Pride Month. This is the Flagstaff stop being hosted at the Orpheum Theater on Friday, June 20.

I had the pleasure of designing the flyer for the show and appearance of Nicole Paige Brooks, last July at the Pemberton in Phoenix, a show produced by DJ Image.

When I design, it’s not just about how it looks. It’s about how it feels before you even walk through the door.

This piece sets the tone for Sue R. Rowe Presents Desert Diva Bearded Queen, a preliminary to America’s Bearded Queen, happening Sunday, June 28, 2026 at 4 p.m.

Featuring reigning America’s Bearded Queen, Paris Starz, and hosted by Mia Inez Adams, this design was created to reflect the level of excellence and presence they bring to the stage.

This is more than an event. Its expression. It’s freedom. It’s a celebration of being fully seen.

The color story is bold and vibrant, but still grounded in elegance. Because that balance matters.

Too often, LGBTQ+ events and brands don’t get visuals that match their impact.

That’s the gap I’ve spent over 20 years helping close.

Every design is intentional.
Every detail carries weight.
Every piece is about visibility, resilience, and joy.

I hope you all made it out to for the return of Saturday Night Madness with .inez.adams .

I’m grateful to Mia Inez Adams for the trust and collaboration on the visual direction for the return of her legendary gig on Saturday, May 2, and every first Saturday of the month. I remember cutting it up with her on stage on Saturday nights back in the day. Good times.

I continue to work with LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs and entertainers in my community to shape clear, confident brand presence. That includes visuals, messaging, and the moments in the spotlight that actually support the business and brand they are building.
