Sprout & Scale Marketing

Sprout & Scale Marketing Marketing should create clarity, not chaos. Especially for the rural small business owner who's been handed advice that was never built for her world.

Another year in business and another year renewing my membership with the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce.

This will be our sixth year bar as a member and I genuinely mean this: the Chamber has been one of the best things I have been part of as a business owner here. Between serving on the Board of Directors, being an Energizer Ambassador, and just showing up as an active member, I have gotten so much more out of it than I ever could have imagined.

I believe that the growth of the businesses in our community is the growth of Sprout & Scale. Communities are like ecosystems. When the businesses around us thrive, we all thrive. It makes my business better and honestly it makes my life better too.

If you have been curious about Chamber membership or have wondered what being an Energizer actually looks like, reach out. I will personally help you get connected with the staff so you can learn more.

Real talk about Labor Day as a business owner.

Saturday and Sunday I did not work at all. I spent the weekend with my husband and my friends and I was fully off the clock. No guilt about it. It was truly relaxing, even though we didn't travel and just enjoyed some time home cleaning.

Today though looks a little different. I got some work done this morning and my afternoon is a drive to Rapid City to pick my daughter up and bring her home. Not restful exactly, but not a hustle either. Just a regular Monday that happens to fall on a holiday.

And here's the thing. Even if today wasn't Labor Day I would be doing the exact same thing.

So for anyone feeling guilty about answering that text or checking on something today, don't. We don't always take the same days off that everyone else does. Sometimes our breaks look different. Sometimes they come on a Tuesday or an early Friday or a slow afternoon in the middle of the week.

That's okay. That's actually the point.

Build your work around your life even on the busy days. Still take the breaks, they just might not look like everyone else's. ๐ŸŒฟ

Part 3 of the iPhone content series is here and this one might be my favorite because it is the most practical.

These are six tools I actually carry when shooting content. All of them are on Amazon. All of them are under $50. And I want to be very clear: I have zero affiliate links and I get absolutely no kickback if you buy any of this. I am just your friend who has tried a lot of things and is telling you what actually works.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Here is an amazon link to shop anything in this post:

Save this post. Share it with someone who thinks they need a full camera crew to create good content. They do not. ๐ŸŒฟ

Okay this is the one people always ask me about so here it is. Part 2 of the iPhone camera series: my actual camera settings.

No guessing, no vague advice. Just the exact settings I have turned on when I'm shooting content for myself and my clients on my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

A few highlights worth noting:

Grid and Level turned on so every shot is composed intentionally. 4K at 60fps for video because quality matters even though social platforms compress it. Portraits in Photo Mode on so you always have the option to apply portrait effects later. Macro Control on because close up detail shots are some of the best content you can create.

Lens Cleaning Hints on because a dirty lens is quietly ruining your photos and nobody is talking about it... but also even if this doesn't go off.. always clean your lens before taking content. Always always. I use my shirt.

Go check your settings right now. Swipe through, make the adjustments, and then go take something. ๐ŸŒฟ

Save and share this with someone who needs it.

Went to the Coal Country Open to shoot some content for a client and ended up walking away with the best breakfast sandwich of my summer courtesy of the L&H Industrial team who happened to be set up right next door.

This community, I swear. Thank you L&H for making my morning. ๐ŸŒฑ

"I don't have a good enough camera."

Friend, you do. It's in your pocket right now.

The difference between content that looks polished and content that doesn't usually comes down to a few simple habits, not equipment. Swipe through for part one of a three part series I'm putting together this month all about getting better content from your iPhone.

No fancy gear required.

I will not be taking questions at this time. ๐Ÿ‘€

Okay actually I will, because I think this needs to be said.

AI generated graphics and flyers are everywhere right now and I genuinely cringe every time I see one. Not because I'm anti-AI, I use AI tools regularly and they absolutely have a place in my workflow. But having AI generate your marketing visuals is not the flex people think it is.

Here's the thing. Your audience can tell. Every single time. It looks cheap, it feels impersonal, and it subtly signals that you didn't think they were worth the extra ten minutes in Canva.

In a world where everyone has access to the same AI tools, what actually sets you apart and builds real trust with your audience is humanity. Real graphics. Real photos. Real personality. Real you.

You don't need a design degree. You don't need an expensive photographer. You need Canva and a little intention. Or hire somebody.

Either way, please retire the AI flyers.

That's all.

Some of my best work happens when I get out from behind my usual desk and find a new spot to land.

A little scenery change, a good drink in hand, and suddenly everything flows a little easier. The Alley Coffeehouse & Juice Bar gets it. Yum is right.

Where do you do your best thinking? ๐ŸŒฑ

Real talk: most people are uncomfortable in front of a camera. My clients included. Me included honestly.

So when I show up to a shoot, my job isn't just to give direction. It's to hype you up, make you laugh, help you feel like yourself, and keep going until we get something that actually looks like you at your best.

We have fun. We make mistakes. We shoot in the Wyoming wind, which doesn't always cooperate. And we always, always walk away just fine and with content worth posting.

My clients are bad b*tches. Sometimes they just need someone behind the camera reminding them of that.

Now onboarding for Fall 2026. If you've been thinking about it, this is your sign. 307-391-0857
