My office is wherever I decide it is today.

This particular day it was a picnic table at the splash pad while Paisley ran through the water.

One of the reasons I built Sprout & Scale the way I did is so that I get to choose what I do with my time and where I do it. I have office hours. I show up for my clients consistently. But whether I am at my desk or at a picnic table with my headphones on, the work gets done.

That is not an accident. That is an intentional choice about the kind of business and life I wanted to build.

My daughter has been coming to work with me lately.

She is seven. School just let out and I have her for 12 days before she heads to spend the summer with her dad. I am not getting childcare. Why would I? I want every single minute with her that I can get before she goes.

So she came with me on shoots last week. She was genuinely pretty good about it, though she absolutely wanted to be involved. So I handed her one of our gimbals and let her play around while I handled business.

I did not think much of it in the moment.

Then I looked at what she had captured.

She got me excited. She got me thinking. She got me mid collaboration with a client. Real moments. Real expressions. Real work. The kind of BTS content I almost never have of myself because when I am with a client I am completely focused on them, not on documenting myself.

I have not had content like this since I had staff last year. My seven year old accidentally filled that gap in an afternoon.

I told her I was going to use her photos in my marketing and she absolutely lit up. Thought it was the coolest thing in the world.

This is exactly what I meant when I said my baby will be there alongside me. Not in spite of the work. Right in the middle of it. 🌱

Marketing is not the only thing a business needs to succeed. And I have never pretended otherwise.

Over the years I have built a circle of people I genuinely trust. marketers, cybersecurity teams, automation specialists, AI implementation experts, coaches, bankers, business development resources, and more.

Because when you come to me and what you need is outside of what I do, I am not going to leave you hanging. I am going to do my best to connect you with someone who can actually help.

I want to be a resource.
Not just a service provider.

And here is the thing nobody talks about enough. Referring someone out is not losing.

Watching the people around you grow and succeed has a way of coming back around in ways you never expected.

I am silently cheering for your success. Even if my services are not what you need right now. 🌱

Today we pause to honor and remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country. Their sacrifice is not lost on us and we do not take it lightly.

Sprout & Scale is closed today in observance of Memorial Day and the day following.

As for us, we are somewhere in Cody soaking up Wyoming with our family and doing exactly what we always say matters most. Stepping away, being present, and living the life we are working so hard to build.

Not to spend every evening stressed about what to post. Not to lose weekends to content calendars. Not to feel like marketing is a second full time job on top of the one you are already working hard at.

You should be doing the work you love. Showing up for your family. Being present for the moments that matter. Trusting that your marketing is handled.

I build because of her.

Because I want a better life for us. Because I want her to have every opportunity this life can give her. Because I want her to grow up knowing she is powerful and capable of anything she sets her mind to.

And the best way I know how to teach her that is to show her.

Little eyes are watching me. Hers. And honestly, my younger self's too.

We live in a world that has a lot of opinions about mothers who work. That we are not home enough. That we are too ambitious. That our babies should not be alongside us while we build something.

I do not accept that.

My daughter will be there. Right alongside me. I will not let guilt steal my joy as a mother and I will not let guilt steal my drive as a business owner. I am going to do both. Fully. Together. Without apology.

To every mama out there building something with little eyes watching, Happy Mother's Day. What you are doing matters. More than you know. 🌱
