A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada chanting japa on the field of activities. Above the ocean of birth and death he experiences Prema Bhakti un blackish rolling clouds ready to rain indiscriminately. He sits eternally content in his saffron attire with a peacock feather behind his head as a halo and in place as a reminder to all about his unflinching faith in The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Krishna.

He lived during 1894 to 1977. He was born as Abhay Charan De (Gauwloos). After joining with Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Goswami Prabhu he took sannyasa and was named A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

Srila Prabhupada's spiritual master, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami, first met him in Calcutta in 1922. Prabhupada would later become a renowned spiritual teacher and founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.

In 1922 Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati called upon his young disciple, Srila Prabhupada to take up the mission of preaching all over India and converting people of the world to Krishsna Consciousness. His first missionary tour started on January 23rd, 1923, with a group of 18 disciples. They toured Vrndavana and then went on to Navadvipa and Mayapura where he met Lokanatha Goswami and Syamasundara dasa Babaji (both intimate associates of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu). He then traveled throughout Bengal spreading the holy name of Sri Krishna as well as meeting many scholars, pandits and rajas for six years

In his luggage were a suitcase, an umbrella, dry cereal, around seven dollars' worth of Rupees (Indian currency), and several boxes of books. On Friday, August 13, 1965, the Jaladuta departed under the command of Captain Arun Pandia with his wife aboard.

Srila Prabhupada began chanting the Hare Krsna maha-mantra in New York's Tompkins Square Park in 1966, beginning a westward expansion of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu's magnificent Sankirtana movement.

Srila Prabhupada was the first acarya of ISKCON, a growing international organization that is based on Vedic culture and monotheistic religion. He founded 100s of temples worldwide, including in the west.

Srila Prabhupada had no other passion in his life beyond discussing Krishna. He was a genuine guru, only interested in discussing topics on Krishna. Everyone who encountered him was enthralled by his purity.

Srila Prabhupada was a very humble and unassuming person. He never expected to be worshiped as a god, but only as a humble servant of Krishna. His mission was not centered on himself but on his books which contain the message of Krsna consciousness, or God consciousness.

Prahlad Maharaj was the devotee of Srila Nrisimhadeva and Srila Nrisimhadeva protected him from his father Hiranyakashipu. Hiranyakashipu would poison Pralhad’s food and Srila Nrisimhadeva exploded with rage from out of a pillar to kill the demon king Hiranyakashipu after the demon king openly challenged God.

King Hiraṇyakaśipu was an atheist who had become very powerful by the method of severe austerities and penances. He wanted to be on the level of God and so he demanded that his son, Prahlāda Mahārāja, also become like him. He did not know that his son was already in the perfectional stage of devotion to Lord Kṛṣṇa.

Prahlāda Mahārāja was the devotee of Srila Nrisimhadeva and Srila Nrisimhadeva protected him from his father Hiranyakashipu. Hiranyakashipu would try to kill Prahlāda Mahārāja in many different ways.

Prahlad Maharaja, Krishna's pure devotee, faced all sorts of difficulties at the hands of King Hiranyakashipu: he was thrown into a blazing fire; an elephant trampled on him; he also had arrows shot against him by demons, etc., but he never left the Lord's service and so Prahlad was protected. In this way, he proved that one can reach the highest perfection in spiritual life simply by rendering service unto the Lord.

The Lord says that anyone who has unflinching faith in Him and engages himself in His devotional service obtains the supreme benediction of returning to Godhead. In other words, one can easily return home, back to Godhead, by engaging oneself in devotional service to the Lord.

Prahlad was a constant companion of Krishna from his very childhood. One time when he was a boy, his father, King Hiranyakashipu, asked him: "My dear Prahlāda, who is your friend?"

Prahlad said: "Hiranyakasipu! There is no one dearer to me than Krishna. He is my best friend."

The king replied: "How can you say such a thing? Myself and the other demons like Rāvaṇa and Śeṣa are the most powerful personalities in the universe. Who is this Kṛṣna? He appears to be nothing more than an ordinary man."

"Yes," answered Prahlad, "you and the other demons may be very strong and unconquerable in battle with ordinary men, but Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. You and the other demons may be great scientists, philosophers, psychologists and politicians, but Krishna has a spiritual form admired by all. Therefore, He is not an ordinary man."

In this way Prahlad Maharaja tried to convince his atheist father that he was wrong in thinking that there was no supreme person above him or beyond himself. This is why King Hiranyakashipu tried to kill his son Prahlāda Mahārāja because he would blaspheme him as being less than God, but somehow or other Prahlāda escaped from all these attempts upon his life made by his own father.
Srila Nrisimhadeva had enough of Hiranyakashipu's blasphemy and was ready to kill the demon king.

Hiranyakashipu was confused because he had previously made a deal with God to become immortal. He thought that since he had not been killed by anyone yet, he must be immortal. But when he saw Srila Nrisimhadeva, he knew that God had broken His promise and He was going to kill him.
He begged Srila Nrisimhadeva not to kill him and offered his own life if he would spare him. But because Hiranyakashipu had previously tried to kill Prahlāda, who was a pure devotee of God, Lord Nṛsiṁha did not accept this deal and killed the demon with His bare hands. Opening his stonelike chest with His transcendental nails.

After killing Hiranyakashipu, Lord Nṛsiṁha returned to His abode in Dvārakā where He resides as Śyāmasundara along with His associates like Garuḍa. When they see Him at home after returning from their worldly duties, everyone becomes overwhelmed with love for Kṛishna and offers their respects to Him with great pleasure.

King Hiranyakashipu learned the hard way that you don't mess with Krishna's devotees. He thought he could get away with trying to kill his son Prahlada, who was a devout follower of the Lord, but Srila Nrisimhadeva appeared to take revenge and killed the king himself. So, this is a lesson to anyone who would dare to hurt a devotee of Krishna - they will not escape unscathed, as Hiranyakashipu found out.

Srila Prabhupada says, "Krishna, The Supreme Personality of Godhead" that "If Krsna wants to kill someone no one can save him, and if Krsna wants to save someone no one can kill him." This is because Krsna is the Supreme Lord and has all power. He can do whatever He wants, including saving or killing. So, those who try to hurt a devotee of Krishna will be punished, as Hiranyakashipu found out. But those who faithfully serve Him with love will be rewarded, as Prahlada Maharaja was.
