Case study: Herkimer Mountain ⛏️💎

When the Herkimer Mountain team came to RedWeb.Digital, they had a big problem.

Their website was built on Squarespace, and while it had gotten them this far, it was starting to create more frustration than growth. The site had functionality limits, the booking experience was clunky, and the overall user journey was not as clear or intuitive as it needed to be. For a business driven heavily by Instagram and TikTok traffic, that matters. If people land on your website and feel confused, they leave.

They needed more than a prettier website. They needed a website that could actually support the business.

That’s why they hired RedWeb.Digital.

Our goal was to move Herkimer Mountain off of Squarespace and onto WordPress so they would have a stronger foundation, a better booking experience, and a site that could grow with them. We reworked the structure of the site, improved the navigation, simplified the path to booking, and created a cleaner mobile-friendly experience that makes it easier for visitors to understand what to expect and take the next step.

The transformation is night and day.

What was once a limiting DIY platform is now a strategic WordPress website designed to guide visitors, support conversions, and make booking far more intuitive. The new site gives the Herkimer Mountain team more flexibility behind the scenes and gives their customers a much smoother experience on the front end.

SITE LAUNCH! 🚀

We’re excited to announce the launch of the new website for Hero Initiative: HeroInitiative.org

Hero Initiative is an incredible nonprofit that helps comic book creators in crisis. When writers, artists, inkers, colorists, and other creators face medical emergencies, financial hardship, or need a path back into paid work, Hero Initiative steps in with real support.

Their old website had heart, but it was no longer doing the heavy lifting the organization needed. It helped raise awareness, but it did not clearly guide visitors toward action. The message was getting lost, donations were not being prioritized, and the site was not functioning as the strong marketing tool Hero Initiative needed.

That is what this redesign was built to change.

We worked with Hero Initiative to create a clearer, stronger, more purpose-driven website—one that tells their story better, builds trust faster, and gives supporters simple paths to take action. The new site was designed to help turn attention into support through donations, creator stories, merchandise, workplace giving, and other meaningful ways to get involved.

This project was about more than a fresh look. It was about building a website that can better serve the mission.
