Giving back to our community is a big part of our mission. This holiday season, we would like to pay it forward by gifting bikes and helmets to families in need. If you or someone you know is struggling to put presents under the tree, please come get a bicycle for your child. First come, first served. Take one or take four, we just ask that they go to deserving families and children.

If no one is in need, we will gladly donate them to the Good Samaritan in Lamar after the holiday season.

We want to thank all of customers for allowing us the opportunity to pay it forward this holiday season.

Last week we said goodbye to our summer intern, Ethan Ball. Ethan was a valuable member of our team and we look forward to seeing what he accomplishes in his future careers after his tenure at Missouri State University.

Amongst the many hats that Ethan wore this summer, one of them was his entomology hat! Ethan set out three Leafhopper traps in Barry, Barton, and Dade county.

Leafhoppers are a novel pest to our area, coming to light last year. One species of the leafhopper (Dalbulus maidis) can vector in diseases such as corn stunt spiroplasma (CSS).

Our hopes were for Ethan to come up dry with his collections, but unfortunately, we did collect positive specimens. We have sent them off to see if they are transmitters of any known pathogens.

Thank you Ethan for all of your hard work! Best wishes this school year and we hope to see you around.
