Time is the number one reason why people hire a social media manager...actually lack of time.

There is so much to do when you own a business. Especially if you are a solopreneur and you are doing it all on your own. Outsourcing tasks in your business is hard! It's hard to think that someone else could give it the same effort that you would.

But time is precious and as a business owner you have to make sure that you are prioritizing the tasks that only you can do. Social media is something that you can trust to someone else, but you have to make sure you hire someone that it creative, motivated and committed to making your accounts successful.

Brand Consistency is important because the fonts, colors and logos you use are what people will associate with your brand. You want them to see your post and know it's from your business; this creates a "face" for your company. Don't you want your audience to recognize you?

If your branding is consistent then people will remember you and you definitely want to be remembered!!

Making a brand board for my clients is one of my favorite things to do. I love seeing a snapshot of the vibe of their brand and how all the elements flow together.

Improving your IG aesthetic doesn’t mean you have to have a planned out pattern where you are trying to connect pics together or splitting images over multiple times.

Whew! That’s a relief!!

This type of highly curated grid look was a trend and thank goodness because it was time consuming and just not effective!!

It may look cool when someone looks at your whole grid but if they are just scrolling will it catch their eye as valuable content they want to click on?

What’s most important is giving value to your audience. Create graphics and source photos that are quality and add a caption that is informative and valuable. That’s where you should put your time and energy!!

Should you be using consistent colors, fonts and styles? Yes! But does it have to all come together to create one big picture or design on your grid? No!

Get clear on your branding and what your style is and be consistent…that’s how you improve your Instagram aesthetic!!🙌🏼

Connecting with your customers is key because people are more likely to buy from and be loyal to you if they feel like they can relate to you.

There are lots of ways to connect including:
➡️Social media posts
➡️ Stories
➡️ Video
➡️ Emails
➡️ Blogs
➡️ Reels / TikToks

Yes it takes time to put content out in all of these areas but that’s where outsourcing can benefit you!

Do you have a social strategy for 2022?

Thinking ahead to next year and putting together a strategy is so important.

Do you have to plan out a year's worth of social posts? Absolutely not!

Actually that would not be good because you have to leave room in your plan to post about what is going on in the moment.

Developing a strategy is creating a framework and when you have a strong framework you are ensuring that your social content will be relevant and valuable.

Everything! In my mind you can plan out everything!!

Okay, I know you can’t plan for every single thing in life; there will be things that come up that are unplanned. BUT, when it comes to content can can pretty much plan 100% of it!

I’m all about planning out emails, blogs and social posts, and then if there is a need to make send an additional email or post something else because a relevant situation arises, that’s okay.

But if you have planned your content in advance the occasional impromptu post will be easy and not stressful.

Here’s my strategy:

➡️Plan at least one month in advance

➡️Assign a theme to each week

➡️ Create content that relates to that theme (emails, blogs, social posts)

➡️ Schedule all that content to go out/post the following month

➡️ Repeat

Planning ahead gives you power over your schedule. Your days should run you, you should run the day!!

Do you have time to read? It’s hard for me to slip in reading time because life is so busy! And when I read a good book I get sucked in and abandon all of my responsibilities and that’s not good. 😣

But I love to read and wish I could do more of it. I do listen to a lot of audio books!! That’s the compromise for me because I can listen in the car, while I exercise, while I clean the house, etc. So I’m still being responsible, getting my chores done AND enjoying the book…even though I would prefer to enjoy it the old fashioned way!😜

In my role as a content planner/creator for businesses, I am able to give the owner back some of their time so they can read, or travel, or do whatever it is they love. And that makes me happy!!

It's important to take a break from work and enjoy doing fun things on your own or with family and friends. No one can survive on all work and no play!😊

If you collaborate with others in your business then you need to be using tools to make it easy for both you and those you are collaborating with.

Here are a few of my favorite tools that I use to collaborate:

☑️ Voxer - Voxer is a communication app that you can use to text or send voice messages, walkie-talkie style. You can also send pictures and videos. I love this app because I only use it for my business which means it's just for my clients, partners or mentors in business. So if I get a Voxer message I know it is business related, and if it's work hours I check it immediately; but if it's family time then I don't check it until I'm back 'on the clock'. I don't have to worry about wandering if it's my mom or my sister or best friend messaging me to tell me something important, or just sharing a funny meme; because they don't have access to my Voxer.

☑️ Trello - Trello is how I collaborate with my clients. I build calendars, add graphics and copy and they can access it all by visiting our shared board. There are option to to add labels and make comments and we can do so much communication and collaboration through Trello.

☑️ Google Drive - I set up a shared google folder for all my clients and we both add important information that we want to share with one another. I set up folders to organize information into categories and I regularly check the info to see what important documents, photos and info has been added.

In today's digital age there are so many ways we can collaborate with others. Nothing replaces human connection and meeting in person and/or on a virtual call every now and then is important; but collaborating using these tools keeps things flowing and makes working together so much easier.
