A little small-business reminder… 👀
There is ROOM FOR EVERYONE in this industry. There are enough customers, ideas, creativity, and opportunities for multiple small businesses to thrive. ❤️
FRIENDLY competition is one thing. Copying is another.
Take inspiration. Be creative. Put your own spin on things. But continuously taking other small business’s ideas, designs, and even EXACT words from their posts and presenting them as your own? That’s not inspiration—that’s copying.
And honestly, if you’re going to take an idea, design, or even the wording from another small business, at least tag them and give them credit. 🙃 It costs absolutely nothing to say, “Inspired by ” or “I saw this idea from ___.”
Small business owners work HARD to create their own brands, designs, content, and ideas. We spend countless hours brainstorming, designing, creating, photographing, posting, and building our businesses.
You can take the idea. You can take the words. You can even try to recreate the design. But you can’t take the creativity, the work ethic, or the passion behind it. 💅🏼
There’s room for all of us. Let’s not copy. ❤️
