Child’s Trail, named by the Ute tribe, once covered portions of Trail Ridge Road. It was named Child's trail because it was so steep in certain areas that the children had to walk instead of ride horses. Along with the Ute, this trail was also use by the Arapaho. Trail Ridge road crosses over these trails in several places hence the name “Trail Ridge”.
