Vietnam Veteran Jerry Smith Sr. was denied a Purple Heart Medal.

Why?

Because of his race.

After being injured in the line of duty, the military told him “We don’t give Negroes Purple Hearts”.

To this day, this injustice has not been rectified. So we created a campaign to bring awareness to Jerry's situation. Please help us by signing the petition in the comments!

We first met Jerry while filming a video for a commercial client. As a military veteran and retired police officer, he exemplified a commitment to his country, community, and family.

But when Jerry casually mentioned that he was Emmett Till’s cousin and had faced similar forms of injustice, we realized that we had only scratched the surface of his story.

And so, we embarked on a new mission: to bring awareness to Jerry’s circumstance so that the United States military will take note and correct the injustice.

In 2018, our creatives began hosting film workshops which help elevate the profile of young men within the juvenile detention system. The program is a collaboration with The Delta Project, a non-profit focused on answering a key question asked by one intuitive young detainee:

How do I become something I don't see?”

Here, students are trained to run their own film production, culminating in a face-to-face interview with a mentor… who they can see.

We just completed this COVID-19 response film for Amway. We had to find all sorts of creative ways to build the narrative while social distancing – which wasn't easy – but finding our motivation was.

Over the last ten years we've had the privilege of experiencing this community all over the world, in over fifteen different countries. Everywhere we go one thing is true: this group people believe in themselves... and they believe in each other.

It's a bond which transcends culture, race, and social status... and one that most certainly keeps .

Gorilla is searching for a location in the West Michigan area to film an upcoming commercial for a major appliance brand. The home selected will get to keep all of the appliances: Refrigerator, Range/Microwave stack, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, and Dryer.

To qualify, you home must have a relatively similar aesthetic to the photos here, and the your appliances need to be the same as those in the image. The range+microwave stack is a must-have.
