The Grand Rapids Thunderhawks baseball team fell 2-1 to Mahtomedi in the State Tournament Quarter Finals. In a game that had a 2 hour rain delay in the bottom of the 4th, where GR had a 1-0 lead, Mahtomedi would tie it up in the bottom of the 5th. This game was decided in the 8th inning. After a bad throw to first, Mahtomedi was able to advance the runner to 3rd. Cody Loida would hit the ball to left field with no chance for Ari Lamppa to get to it. Mahtomedi walks-off the Thunderhawks for the win. Grand Rapids now moves into the Consolation Bracket where they will play tomorrow at Noon at the Mini Met in Jordan.

Grand Rapids Baseball is in a rain delay in Chaska. The game will resume around 12:45p. Thunderhawks lead 1-0 in the bottom of the 4th. When the game does resume Mahtomedi will be at the plate with runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs

It is the start of the State Baseball Tournament in Chaska. Grand Rapids Thunderhawks will be taking on the defending Class 3A champions Mahtomedi Zephyrs. All the action can be heard on J105.5 The Thunder and J105radio.com and on the Rapids Radio Mobile App. Pregame will begin at 9:40 with game start slated for 10am. Dan-O is on the call.

The Grand Rapids ThunderHawks baseball team is on their way to the State Tournament for a 24th appearance. They will be playing tomorrow at 10am in Chaska. Game will be on J105.5 The Thunder and J105radio.com and on the Rapids Radio Mobile. Dan-O had a chance to get some photos of the team before they loaded up on the bus from Bob Streetar Field.
