Anderson Island Photography

Anderson Island Photography Founded in 2014, Anderson Island Photography is the source for award-winning portrait, landscape, wildlife and fine art photography.

Smithsonian-recognized photographer Sean Griffin moved to Anderson Island in 2014 because he found the island so conducive to the kinds of photography he loves - portraiture, landscape, wildlife and fine art. He does everything from senior photos to fashion and product photography in his island studio as well as at a variety of locations outdoors. He also volunteers his time and talent to creating

remembrance photos for parents whose babies will not be coming home from the hospital. And he offers free individual or family portraits to anyone beginning a cancer journey. His photograph, "The Crossing," was awarded Grand Prize in the 2016 Anderson Island Photography Contest. He publishes an acclaimed Anderson Island Calendar each year, featuring 12 or more stunning images of island life. Calendars are available at the Anderson Island General Store, Anderson Island Cafe and the Johnson Farm Gift Shop. They can also be purchased online by PayPal-ing $24 (which includes shipping and handling) to [email protected]. Framed prints of his images grace the walls of the Anderson Island Cafe and are available for purchase. Although he moved from the island in 2020, he still maintains his photography business there, and is available for photo sessions and special projects. At sean-griffin.pixels.com, customers can purchase his photography printed on paper, metal, canvas, acrylic or on a variety of surfaces ranging from shower curtains to iPhone and Galaxy cases. I’d forgotten how much work it is when yours is a boutique company designing and selling greeting cards featuring your own photography.

Besides taking the photograph, each card must be designed, text must be crafted, orders for cards, envelopes, and cellophane bags must be placed, and bundles of card flats unwrapped.
When your shipment arrives, each card must be carefully folded, an envelope inserted, and then placed and sealed in a cellophane bag.

The 310 cards I’m processing today (including two new designs among the 21 designs in this batch) will be heading to the Anderson Island (Washington) General Store next week.

I've just learned one of my favorite panoramic photographs tied for 1st place among 438 entries in an international contest sposored by FineArt America. The theme of the contest was "Islands."
The photograph was taken from from the northern shore of Anderson Island, Washington, which -- by coincidence -- I am visiting today and have that same view out my window! Click on picture to see the full image.

I just learned that one of my favorite photographs won third place in an international photo contest sponsored by FineArt America. The theme was: "Forgotten by Time: Winter Scene with Snow." The image was captured at the Johnson Farm on Anderson Island, Washington, USA.
As with most of my photos, this image is available for purchase, and can be printed conventionally on paper, or on polished aluminum, cell phone cases, shower curtains, tote bags, and more.

November is "steam fog" time in the Pacific Northwest, where streamers of fog seem to lift off the surfaces of ponds, lakes and puddles. The steam fog in this photo is rising from Lake Josephine on Anderson Island, captured at Ray Park.
All my photographs can be printed on a wide variety of materials, including tote bags, shower curtains, cellphone covers and jigsaw puzzles.
