The Pittsburgh Panthers baseball team dominated the Backyard Brawl on April 21, run-ruling West Virginia Mountaineers baseball 23-1 in Morgantown.

Pitt wasted no time offensively, putting up 7 runs in the 2nd inning and 8 more in the 3rd to break the game wide open early.

At the plate, Sebastian Pisacreta led the charge with a 3-run home run, while Lorenzo Carrier added another homer as part of a relentless Panthers lineup that finished with 13 hits and 23 runs.

On the mound, Pitt’s staff combined to hold WVU to just 2 hits and 1 run, with multiple arms contributing to keep the Mountaineers off balance all night.

A statement win in the Backyard Brawl as Pitt improves to 25-14, while WVU falls to 27-10.

Belle Vernon baseball picked up a dominant 8-1 win over Ringgold on Tuesday, improving to 5-2 on the season.

Zach Plymire was lights out on the mound, going all 7 innings, allowing just 4 hits and 1 earned run while throwing 95 pitches and walking only 2.

Chace Petrosky led the offense going 2-for-4 with 2 runs scored on the day. Big W for the Leopards. 🐆⚾

Eden Christian Academy rolls past Serra Catholic 14–3 in varsity baseball action.

Noah Emswiler led the way for the Warriors, going 3-for-4 with a home run and 3 RBI, while also earning the win on the mound with 5 IP, 2 ER, and 8 strikeouts.

Brett Feldman also added a home run to power the Eden Christian offense.

Ligonier Valley softball picks up a 19–11 win over South Allegheny, using a 10-run 4th inning to erase an early 8–3 deficit.

Elyse Witcoski led the Rams at the plate, going 4-for-5 with 4 runs scored, 4 RBIs, a double, and a home run.

Ligonier Valley improves to 1–2 and will travel to Southmoreland on Monday (3/30).

Elizabeth Forward Baseball shuts out Ringgold 1–0.

The Elizabeth Forward Warriors got a dominant performance on the mound from JB Crovak, who recorded 17 strikeouts in the shutout win over Ringgold.

With the victory, Elizabeth Forward improves to 3–1 on the season and will host Ringgold on Thursday, March 26 at 4 PM.

Ringgold falls to 0–3 and will face McGuffey at home on Wednesday, March 25.

Yesterday, Liam and I made the trip to Moon for a lax matchup between Robert Morris and Detroit Mercy. I have the most basic knowledge of how the sport works, but have always found it to be interesting and have wanted to photograph it for a few months now.
