Innovative Livestock Services Inc.

Innovative Livestock Services Inc. ILS is a Farming and Feedlot operation that focuses on growing great tasting and sustainable beef.

The relationship dates back to 1988 when Ward Feed Yard and Great Bend Feeding chose to work together and face the challenges of marketing cattle in central KS. This challenge was turned into opportunity and the mindset to face adversity head on by; identifying the problem, designing a solution, and implementing positive. These values still hold true today and the foundation of ILS is built on int

egrity, trust, relationships, personal development, respect, teamwork, innovation, and accountability. Our mission today is to combine innovation with the passion of our people to empower our rural communities and grow great tasting and sustainable beef. Our employees are dedicated to what they do, bringing a level of personal accountability and passion to every-day activities. Their focus on management production, sound business practices, and commitment to customers and consumers is driven by our desire to be the best. We have high standards to provide safe and abundant food for your family. By teaming up with companies such as Ag Systems, Alfalfa Pellets, Agri Fuels, and GK Environmental Services, we ensure our environmental and business sustainability. We have a symbiotic relationship between our farm and feed yards which allow us to utilize a closed-loop nutrient cycle. The crops grown on our farm provide high-quality nutrients for the healthy growth of our cattle fed in the feed yards. The composted manure from our feed yards is then applied to our farm to supply our crops with the nutrients they need. We strive to match the exact needs of the growing plants by delivering the nutrients at the precise time, amount, and location.

Welcome to the team! 👏

This summer, we’re excited to welcome 13 interns and one new Mill Management Trainee to the ILS family.

Representing Kansas State University, Iowa State University, the University of Nebraska, and Oklahoma State University, these students and young professionals are bringing fresh perspectives, strong work ethics, and a passion for agriculture to our operations.

Over the coming months, they’ll gain hands-on experience across our businesses, learn from talented mentors, tackle real-world challenges, and make meaningful contributions to our team. Along the way, we hope they’ll build lasting relationships, create great memories, and discover new opportunities for their future careers.

At ILS, we believe the future of agriculture is bright—and it’s made even brighter by investing in the next generation of leaders.

Join us in giving our 2026 intern class and Mill Management Trainee a warm welcome! 🎉

Ward Feed Yard is proud to support this year’s Cops and Bobbers event in Larned! 🎣

This great community event brings kids, families, local law enforcement, and first responders together for a fun morning at the pond — complete with fishing, prizes, food trucks, and shaved ice.

We’re thankful for organizations like the Pawnee County Youth Initiative Foundation and all the local partners helping create positive experiences for youth in our communities.

Good luck to all the young anglers on June 6! 🐟
