Tigermoth Creative

Tigermoth Creative A team of marketing and communication professionals who develop story-driven creative for brands and people who inspire us. We're a team built on trust.

Our clients are community builders, health care leaders, educators and fundraisers. They're organizations using their strengths to create new possibilities. Whatever their mission, they work to make the world better — and we work to empower their voice. The Tigermoth approach to branding and storytelling brings clarity to what you do and builds meaningful connections with your brand. At Tigermoth

Creative, decades of experience have taught us a lot. Mostly that, above all, relationships matter and stories resonate. When you partner with us, you’ll experience the power of both. Over the years, we developed the ability to read each other’s minds. It’s like a good marriage. We know who takes their coffee black, who’s drinking tea and which one of us is pounding an energy drink - without having to ask. Our goal is to get to know you that well, too. Beverage analogies aside, it’s about collaboration. We push and challenge one another, each one contributing our individual expertise with one shared goal: to connect ideas and strategy with a full suite of services that bring your project to life. We have a passion for crafting your story and sharing it with the world. When your target audience connects with you on a deeper level, their affinity gives way to action -- donations, purchases, applications, whatever your goal may be. Your story is what reels audiences in and inspires them to engage in the first place. Tigermoth listens with the desire to deeply understand your brand, your people, your “why". And best of all, you enter a league all your own. Because no one else has quite the same story as you.

After a couple of decades and dozens of commencements, Tigermoth Director of Photography Chris English has developed an instinct for capturing the defining moments that celebrate students as they enter the next phase of their lives.

Whether it is K-12 or a major university, commencement photography is one of the assignments I value most. At Tigermoth, we build our work around relationships, and over time we really get to know these students, faculty and staff. It is what makes my work meaningful.

Allow me to reintroduce myself, as Tigermoth’s own graphic design polymath: Katie Hutchinson, aka Katie Blvd! Follow along as I talk through my process, tell you all about my history in animation, and the start of my career here with the Tigermoth Creative team.
Between motion graphics, illustration and animation, I serve as a one-stop shop for visual art with a hand-drawn flavor and authentic flare. With 10 years in the industry and 7 years with the TMC team, I can’t wait to share more of my art and music with the world.

Tigermoth’s visual expertise is grounded in photography, videography and graphic design. At least that was true until I saw the stained glass sign out front of our bright orange door. Over the past seven years of collaborating with the TMC team, I have worked animation and illustration into the br...

2025 was a special year for us as we celebrated 10 years of impact-driven storytelling. This first week of 2026, we’re stepping into our next decade with the same promise we’ve always made:
We are listening.

Before a message can move people, it has to mean something.
Listening reveals what your community believes, what they need and what they hope for. It surfaces shared values and helps people see themselves in the mission.

This is how messaging becomes movement — by finding the stories that matter, elevating the voices doing the work and pointing to what is possible. Listening keeps us grounded in truth, and truth is what audiences respond to.

Happy New Year from all of us at Tigermoth. We can’t wait to see what we build together.

Our partners at the United Way of Greater Greensboro are at the National in Miami this week — a great reminder of why we’re passionate about this work. We get to learn, stay curious, and better understand the communities our clients serve.

One of the most valuable learning moments for our team last year was digging into ALICE data — a framework that paints a more accurate picture of financial hardship in our community.

ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed.
These are working individuals and families who earn above the federal poverty line, yet still struggle to cover the basics — housing, childcare, food, transportation, healthcare and technology.

ALICE data makes one truth impossible to ignore:
Thousands of households are contributing, working hard and showing up every day — but rising costs put stability out of reach, leaving many just one unexpected expense away from crisis.

This is why ALICE matters.
It gives nonprofits clear insight, strengthens policymaking, and helps communities understand who’s struggling and why — especially when traditional poverty measures overlook them.

We’re proud to support United Way of Greater Greensboro as they bring this learning back home — and continue leading efforts that help every family move toward stability and opportunity.

Nonprofit and philanthropic storytelling requires more than craft. It requires empathy, humility and the courage to stay present with big, complicated truths.

When Savannah Bruffey took on her first solo project — the story of UNC Greensboro social work students supporting neighbors experiencing homelessness — she stepped into all of that at once.

The story centers on the Congregational Social Work Education Initiative (CSWEI), housed at the Interactive Resource Center (IRC). Savannah’s work captures not only the courage and compassion of the students but also the vital role IRC plays every day as a trusted community hub for people experiencing homelessness.

Her experience shows what happens when a storyteller slows down, listens and lets the truth of a community lead the way. This is the kind of work we believe in at Tigermoth Creative.
View Savannah’s finished piece and get a behind-the-scenes look at her experience bringing it to life.

If you’re considering year-end giving, we’re grateful for the work these organizations do in our community:

This month marks a decade of Tigermoth Creative: ten years of building something meaningful alongside teammates, partners and clients who care deeply about the work we do and the communities we serve.
We put together a short look at the everyday moments that shaped us — the car rides, shared meals, problem-solving, laughter and late afternoons. The in-between spaces where trust and collaboration are built.
The work has mattered. The relationships have mattered just as much.
If you’d like to see more of the journey, we’ve shared the longer version on our blog, Wingspan.

The best annual reports don’t just summarize impact — they show it. They help readers feel part of the mission and see themselves in the story.

That’s how "the giving effect," Cone Health Philanthropy’s annual impact magazine, became a powerful tool for connection and giving. The publication earned multiple Communicator Awards for nonprofit storytelling and helped raise $35 million in just 2.5 years — ahead of projections. Now, Cone Health is aiming even higher for its next phase.
