I know, you told me so.

Almost 2 years later, localtypeco.com is no longer. At least, for now.

My amazing clients told me that I'd love "just" being a mom while finding further identity in Christ.

And they you all were right.

My mom jokingly asks, "Who are you?!" Because I spend time making sourdough, learning to make yogurt and sew.

And, I don't have an answer for her. 😂 I mean, I'm the one who said I wanted to make enough $ to pay someone to wash my dishes.

Anyway, this felt like a monumental step. One that I couldn't make without sharing.

It means that if/when Local Type does make a comeback, it'll look quite different.

As my clients know, I've been on an extended sabbatical.

I'm thrilled (and nervous) to announce that I've been accepted into a copywriter-only coaching group hosted by Jess Jordana!

Jess Jordana is a talented, effective and compassionate copywriter and brand strategist I’ve followed for years now.

I'm so thankful that my first experience within a coaching group is following the lead of a fellow copywriter, business owner and mom who works 16 hours a week. Yep, she follows a MWF schedule like my own.

So, yeah, I’m proud enough to brag about being accepted into this intimate coaching group, but more than that, I want you to know this:

I’m committed to being a better copywriter and business owner to serve my clients well. In this cohort, I’m receiving support and education surrounding the topics of copywriting skills, client processes, scalability and more!

"Exactly how local is Local Type?"

For MY reasons and purposes, local is mostly the Carolinas, Virginia and Eastern Tennessee.

📍Am I beginning to work with a client in California? Yes.
📍Have I worked with a client in Nevada? Yes.
📍Indiana? Yes.

But you know how universities have smaller acceptance rates for out-of-state students? 👩‍🎓

Local Type helps the small businesses I feel confident I can serve well.

Most of the time that's in North Carolina because that's where I am, where I'm from and where I've lived my whole life.

(Excluding a summer in Decatur & ATL) 🏙

Remember when people would say, “Thanks for being here when you could be anywhere else?”

Yeah, then covid happened, and I got used to spending less time with people outside my family.

That’s when I realized I REALLY could be anywhere else.

Until then, I thought, “Where else do you think I’d be?”

Now I think, “Yeah, you’re right. Thanks for noticing.” 😂🤔😬

So, thanks for keeping up with Local Type.

It means a lot to me. Seriously.

Instead, I’ll speak these blessings over you.

May you experience less stress and more clarity today.

May you put burnout behind you to chase your dreams and discover your priorities.

I'm not so disillusioned to think that everyone who follows Local Type on Facebook own businesses. Why? Beacuse this page started when I was a journalism student in college.

When I started Local Type, I didn’t realize it was in part my dad who convinced me I could do it.

Thanks, Dad, for teaching me that I’m a problem solver.

Thanks for showing me what starting a business can look like.

Thank you for teaching me that some paths are road trips, not direct flights.

You’re the best, and I love you with my whole heart.

It’s a party, it’s a party, it’s a party in your inbox!

It’s a pleasure working with Tanea to make sure her welcome emails and sales emails are pulling their weight.

With every email opened, that’s another opportunity for potential customers or return customers to see the business name Parties by Tanea.

Our goal for this project is bigger. It’s to get clicks.

Why? Because we know that Tanea’s business has helpful and fun products that people want. It’s our job to make sure they know where to get convenient, Pinterest-worthy party supplies.
