A gathering that somehow sets the bar higher every year. One I’m always giddy to contribute to, and one that I think has grown to mean even more than what it originally set out to do.

Last week’s 2026 Brewers Field Day, hosted by , was one for the books. They sure know how to host, and if you ever get invited, go. You’ll leave with a full stomach, probably a sunburn, and a much deeper appreciation for the people behind North Carolina agriculture, craft beer, and local grain.

I’m really grateful that my work allows me to help tell stories like these and support businesses that genuinely care about what they do and who they do it for.

How are you telling your story?

Because as a business, that part is rarely simple. I know that firsthand.

Lately, I’ve been all over the map in the best way. From storytelling events in the mountains, to time spent in the foothills supporting hospitality teams, to conversations around museum development and children’s experiences. Fine dining event support, operations work, and seeing a previous client bring their trade show vision to life.

Different spaces. Same thread. People building things that matter, trying to make it all work behind the scenes.

As a fractional marketing and operations partner, I step in where things need clarity, structure, and momentum. Sometimes that looks like strategy. Sometimes it is ex*****on. Often it is both.

When the work is there but the narrative isn’t, that’s the space I step into.

As I’m working on a proposal for a client’s strategic planning meeting, I keep thinking, how many businesses are running without a plan?

How do you know where you’re going if you don’t have directions?

A business doesn’t have to feel like a road trip you’re figuring out as you go. You can have a map, checkpoints, and room to pause and adjust.

I help teams do that in a fractional way by getting aligned, staying on track, and moving forward with intention.

One of the most common issues I fix is not a lack of demand, but a lack of systems.

In this case, the business was growing, but inquiries were being missed simply because there was no clear process and ownership already had too much on their plate. By tightening the sales funnel, creating visibility, and testing a shared system, efficiency improved quickly. That efficiency eventually justified hiring a dedicated sales team to handle incoming business full time.

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about what actually lights me up.

One of the best parts of owning your own business is realizing you’re allowed to pivot. You get to lean into the work you enjoy and let go of the parts that don’t feel as aligned anymore.

I’ve realized my value often shows up higher upstream: connecting the dots so people, teams, and communities can actually thrive.

So I’m shaking things up a bit. I’m opening myself to new industries and zeroing in on what really excites me: process management, people-first systems (yes, community is part of that), employee training and assessments, and helping build work cultures that feel positive and efficient.

Same heart, clearer direction.
