You're not alone, and honestly, that's the wild part.

WTF Wednesday: ROI Return on Investment. (The big one. The first thing every CFO asks. The reason you're reading this.) ROI = (Gain from Investment − Cost of Investment) / Cost of Investment. Sounds simple. Almost never is.

Real ROI requires three discipline points:

Total cost loaded (media + tools + people + overhead)
Total revenue tracked (multi-touch attribution, not last-click)
Time horizon honesty (12-month vs 36-month reconciliation)

STORY TIME: I stopped by the other offices at Bain St. the other week for a quick break and ran into Juan Hernandez. He was there for Launch Greensboro's Startup Week. His company specializes in building AI efficiency tools for businesses. His work reminded me a lot of my good friend Mike Rucker, a published author and AI-adjacent founder who had been through a previous Launch cohort. I told Juan it would be great to connect the two of them. Not two minutes later, Mike walked through the door! I love how Greensboro and the local startup ecosystem continue to grow / expand, but that we can all still run into one another. Reminds me that while we live in a big city, we can still have those happy small town-esque connections.
