Day 6 -
This morning started off great. Justin is talking, though his words are still hard to understand and gets harder the more tired he gets. He is following commands really well.
However, he has blurred and double vision in his right eye, and he is infact 100% deaf in his right ear now. The Drs are coming through and deciding what can be removed, such as: chest tube, feeding tube and/or catheter. He would love to get up and move. Also, his short term memory seems to be a little foggy. But all of this is to be expected when you have surgery for 26.5 hrs out of 48 hrs.
His biggest hope is for him to leave the ICU unit and at least be in the step down wing at least which gives him a little more freedom and he says he would be happier so I can sleep in a bigger spot than this little chair.
