As parents, we like to believe we know everything about our children. The truth is...we probably know more than they think we do, but less than we'd like.
They have secrets. They have inside jokes, private conversations, and friends who will cover for them.
Then I stopped and asked myself something...
Didn't we?
I think one of the hardest parts of parenting is remembering who we were before we became parents. We remember our childhoods through the lens of adulthood instead of through the eyes of the teenager we once were.
Today's blog isn't about assuming the worst about our kids.
It's about remembering that trust, honesty, and connection are built over time—not through knowing every detail of their lives, but by becoming the person they feel safe coming to when life gets messy.

Recently, that chapter closed when I was let go from Shelter — but sometimes God closes one door to open another.

I’m currently in school pursuing psychology, and I’ve stepped out in faith to open Journey Beyond Coaching. This new path is about growth, healing, and helping people move forward in life.
