The Los Angeles class fast attack submarine USS Albany (SSN 753) is prepared to be guided out of the floating dry dock, Auxiliary Repair Dry Dock (RDM 4), on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Submarine Base New London in Groton, Conn. Albany, the fifth U.S. Navy ship to be named for the capital city of New York, underwent regularly scheduled maintenance while docked.

Navy Diver third class Mason Perkins jumps into the icy Thames River at Submarine Base New London in Groton, Conn. on Friday, February 6th to start repair work on a fast attack submarine. Petty Officer Perkins is assigned to the Dive Locker at Naval Submarine Support Facility (NSSF) New London whose mission is to keep Groton based submarines in the fight.

A flag retirement ceremony was held on Thursday, September 11th at Historic Ship Nautilus & Submarine Force Museum.
The ceremony was led by the Chief Petty Officers and prospective Chief Petty Officers of the Groton Area Chief Petty Officers Association and marked the 24th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
