It’s not a funding problem, it’s a priority problem. Cutting essential teachers and staff is taking resources away and putting more stress in classrooms will result in more students leaving and not the answer.
And now we have SRCSD allocating tax payer dollars to cover the over $100 million in debt that’s accumulated in just a short time instead of… oh I don’t know… maybe FOCUSING ON PRIORITIES and protecting our current assets?
Declining enrollment has been happening for YEARS. As they say… a failure to plan, is a plan to fail.
Nearly 100 teachers in Orange County Public Schools, one of the largest school districts in the state, may be out of a job in the coming weeks as the district continues to grapple with the economic fallout of declining student enrollment.
