ASK AN EXPERT is a voluntary service. Following a session, an organization may:
• Implement recommended next steps on your own.
• Agree on contracted paid services with one or more HVNC consultants.

NO obligation for nonprofit consultant beyond the pro bono meeting. All sessions are completely confidential. Limit of one ASK AN EXPERT session per organization per year.

The shutdown across New York State affected each office and department in Delaware County significantly, especially during the early days and months of the pandemic. Protocols and practices that had been in place for decades were stopped over night to protect everyone from infection.
However, departments and offices quickly pivoted and rethought their practices, coming together to fill gaps where help was needed, and this is their story. COVID-19 has shown us where our strengths lie – within the relationships we build and maintain.

In this video series, join us as we reflect on the past year of life and government operations during the pandemic, and as we look at the present and future of a post-pandemic Delaware County. We are not in the clear yet and are still seeing new infections daily. Please continue to wear a mask, practice good hygiene and social distancing, and most importantly, get vaccinated. Delaware County staff, elected officials, and residents mourn those that we have lost in our communities and across the world and will continue to work to prevent this virus from taking more lives. It takes all of us.

On March 14th, 2020, the Board of Supervisors’ Chairman, Tina Mole, announced a State of Emergency for Delaware County, just two days after the county saw its first confirmed case of COVID-19. The State of Emergency was to last one month, however as the pandemic grew in magnitude, so did restrictions at not only the county level, but the state and federal levels as well.

The beginning of the pandemic held unknowns for not only citizens, but for those operating government services who despite extensive planning for public health emergencies, were left with limited options. With ever-changing state and federal guidance and regulations superseding county plans, and new scientific information being discovered and released, every day, sometimes every hour, held new changes and updates to be acted upon.
