After almost four incredible years of being Lily & Bloom Embroidery, I have made the very hard decision to close down my business. While I have absolutely LOVED getting to do this and have turned this into a very successful small business, I had to make the very difficult decision to put my family first. When I started doing this little side hustle, I had two little babies. Now I have a 4 and 7 year old and I am the busiest I’ve ever been in my life. I’m raising two young kids, one being a special needs child which has not been easy in the slightest. They need more of my time and attention and after juggling two jobs for nearly four years straight, it’s time for a break.
Running this business has been the absolute joy of a lifetime. Because of Lily and Bloom I have gotten to meet so many new people, formed relationships with other small business owners, got licensed with Sarah J. Maas, went viral on Tiktok and got hundreds of orders from it, sold my products in a storefront, realized how much I absolutely love vendor events, found a new career path, got a new full time job I absolutely love, and most importantly I got to witness the joy from hundreds of mothers who received a keepsake crewneck with their baby’s clothing that I know they’ll cherish forever.
I will not be shutting down immediately. This is going to be a slow transition through the next few months. There will still be time to order keepsakes before I officially close. My shirts will be sold at Fiddlestix Mercantile until June 20th. All active orders will still be completed like normal.
I currently do not have an official close date. I am hoping to pass the business off to someone else and hopefully transition all future customers to another local embroidery business.
That being said, I will be looking to eventually sell off my machine and all my supplies so if anyone has any interest or knows somebody looking, please send a message my way!
I truly cannot say thank you enough to the thousands of you that have supported me over the last four years. I have met so many new people and made some incredible relationships through this business and I will never forget a moment of this all. But now it is time to put all that motivation and determination into my family. They have stuck by me, helped me along the way and cheered me on for years, and now it’s my turn to do the same for them.
Thank you
Alex Holmberg
