Locus of Control is a psychological term that refers to the extent to which people believe that outcomes are within their control (internal) or the result of external forces that are beyond their power to change.
People with an internalized Locus of Control - who believe they are directly responsible for their successes and failures - perform better, experience more job satisfaction, have better personal relationship, report higher earnings, etc.
