Our Story

Metal Wood Creations exist to offer Handcrafted Heirloom Quality woodworking, metalworking, and enablement of DIY for those lacking facilities, tools, or knowledge to do so. We collaborate with you on your design and include you in as much or as little of the process as you like. Yes, even allowing you to have a hand in the making. We find many of our customers like the ability to be “hands on” in that process, so we make a spot for you at our workbenches.

Our desire is to craft unique pieces, unlike department store mass produced items, that will last many life times --ultimately to become family heirlooms. Our favorite materials are the combination of metal and wood. We build with high quality solid hardwoods & metals utilizing robust joinery methods for both durability and appearance. Our hardwoods are sourced in our local markets and we mill and dry much of it to control quality and beauty. We do basic metal fabrication - CNC plasma cutting, welding, forging, and all woodworking in house.

Or, we sell our popular items in our online store as well as localized products in our shops located in Ames, Iowa and Pittsfield Illinois. We look forward to connecting with you!
