It took me a year to learn how markets move and to come up with a trading strategy that has real alpha.

What i did not anticipate was the number of years it would take for me to master my emotions.

The biggest is being disciplined when you only have yourself to hold yourself accountable. I found god and realized that he is always watching and he will keep forcing me to go through the same tests until I realize the lesson he was trying to teach me.

Being able to sit with boredom and not enter a trade out of boredom was another big hurdles for me. Waiting for my set ups and recognizing that when I am in a trade and I start looking at targets outside of the average true range means greed has taken over my mind and that it is time to exit.

Buffets saying of be greedy when others are fearful and fearful when others are greedy is so true. I had to learn how to recognize when I am feeling those emotions and flip what I do when I feel those emotions and do the opposite of what I would typically do when I felt those emotions.

$MNQ Nasdaq futures — coiled between two magnets, 25 points apart

Price 29,750.50. Session VWAP 29,725.12. POC 29,627.75.

The six-timeframe regression ladder

Price versus each regression midline:

🟢 Daily 29,681.90 — +68.60 above
🟢 2-day 29,583.89 — +166.61 above
🟢 Weekly 29,403.90 — +346.60 above
🔴 Monthly 29,886.81 — −136.31 below
🔴 Quarterly 30,527.73 — −777.23 below
🔴 Yearly 30,631.72 — −881.22 below

Three and three. Every short window says healthy pullback, every long window says damage unrepaired. And the slopes confirm it: the weekly ladder is descending roughly 1,645 points across its span while the quarterly and yearly ladders still climb. Higher-timeframe uptrend intact — this is a correction inside it, not a reversal.

Supporting structure

VWAP ladder: 29,725.12 and 29,673.67 stacked within 51 points. EMA 29,674.60 sits inside that pair — three references in a 51-point band.

TPO high-volume nodes: 29,627.75 (19.0% of session volume) and 29,876.50 (13.4%). Value area proxy 29,525 – 29,825. Price is in its upper third, and still below the month/quarter-anchored VWAP at 30,628.46 by 2.95%.

Probabilities — 21-day realised vol 0.934%/day, reflection principle, touch odds not close-beyond, driftless model

Within one session:

29,818.73 → 81%
29,886.81 → 62%
29,983.25 → 40%
30,224.50 → 8.8%
29,725.12 → 93%
29,673.67 → 78%
29,627.75 → 66%
29,583.89 → 55%
29,202.00 → 4.8%
Within one week:

29,818.73 → 91%
29,983.25 → 71%
30,224.50 → 45%
29,627.75 → 84%
29,583.89 → 70%
29,202.00 → 38%
Race odds — which barrier gets touched first

29,818.73 up vs 29,725.12 down → 53.5% up / 46.5% down
29,818.73 up vs 29,627.75 down → 72.9% up / 27.1% down
29,983.25 up vs 29,202.00 down → 29.8% up / 70.2% down
That last line is the honest one: the near-term coin flip favours a poke higher, but the wide-barrier race favours the downside. Balance-day behaviour — price gets pulled between the VWAP cluster above and the POC below.

Two cases

📈 Bull — hold 29,725.12 and reclaim 29,818.73. That level is also the value-area top, so it's a genuine value-area breakout rather than just a band tag → 29,983.25 (71% within a week), then 30,224.50.

📉 Bear — lose 29,725.12 and the POC at 29,627.75 becomes the magnet at 66% one-session / 84% one-week. Below that 29,583.89 (2-day regression), then VAL ~29,525.

Risk framing

Shelf long: entry 29,680.34 · stop 29,570 · T1 29,818.73 (1.26R) · T2 29,983.25 (2.76R) · T3 30,224.50 (4.95R)
Breakout long: entry 29,825 · stop 29,700 · T1 29,983.25 (1.27R) · T2 30,224.50 (3.20R)

The shelf long is the better structure — 91% odds of reaching T1 within a week against a 110-point stop. The breakout is the half-size insurance policy for the dip that never comes.

⚠️ Model outputs under a driftless random walk; touch odds, not odds of a profitable trade; no news or event adjustment. Educational, not financial advice.

🚨📈🎯Market Macro Backdrop 10/20/2026

The Fed is in its pre-meeting blackout period ahead of its late-October FOMC meeting — no official Fed commentary this week. [TRUE IN FACT] (Tickmill daily outlook, Oct 20, 2026)

Last week's CPI and PPI raised input cost pass through concerns. The producer inflation (PPI) print was the more worrying one. A widely circulated headline frames this as "hot inflation putting another Fed rate hike back in play." [TRUE IN FACT] that the data and headline exist; the "rate hike back in play" conclusion is an interpretation — [TRUE IN THEORY].

Brent crude ≈ $109.80/bbl, near a five-month high, carrying a risk premium tied to Strait of Hormuz tensions. [TRUE IN FACT] (Tickmill, Oct 20). Directly supportive of energy holdings.

Asia-led tech/semiconductor sell-off: Kospi −4.2%, SK Hynix leading declines, SoftBank 5-yr CDS at a near-four-year high. [TRUE IN FACT] (Tickmill, Oct 20). Headwind for semis/AI-hardware names.

Monthly S&P 500 options expiry (OPEX) is today, which can add intraday volatility. [TRUE IN FACT] (Tickmill, Oct 20).

Heavy mega cap / AI earnings slate this week: NFLX today (pm); TSLA, IBM, TXN, META, LRCX, T, CSX tomorrow (Oct 21). [TRUE IN FACT] (Robinhood earnings calendar). Guidance from these will set the tone for the market's tech-heavy segment.

US equity-index futures direction pre-open: [COULD NOT CONFIRM] — sources conflict (one outlet cited Nasdaq futures ≈ −0.2%; another headline described futures "soaring"). Treat near-term direction as unresolved at time of writing.

📈🎯Who is taking the Sunday night reversion of the mean trade?? Perfect setup off the point of control of the session/weekly volume profile POC!

Up 232 ticks already. I have a few take profits set up and re-entries already planned out with my stop loss and final TP at the regression trend to complete the reversion of the mean trade??

🚨🎯📈 Here is a nice little hack to determine where money is flowing.

I like yo take the NDX/SPX. This tells me if the money is flowing into the Nasdaq-100 or if it is flowing into the S&P-500.

As we can see with the recent rally by the NDX, the ratio is almost 4:1 against SPX.

This ia great information for trading index futures markets.

I also like to use the 8hr candles because it is a great way to tell what the institutions are doing during the day when the most volume is traded on the futures markets.

🚨🎯📈STRL has broken out of its accumulation structure after holding on top of the 50week EMA.

Now price is testing the 2day 50ema. If this stock moves up and over the 50 EMA, it will test the origin of the trend that brought price to the lows.

Next level of resistance after the 50EMA is $609.74 which is about $40 above where price is now which is about an 8% move.

🚨🎯📈Market Index Brief | October 5, 2026,

Overall view: Cautious to modestly bearish at the open. Friday’s rally left the indexes near recent highs, but futures are about 0.2% lower this morning as Treasury yields remain elevated. Positioning strongly favors Nasdaq-100 over the other indexes. Small caps have the weakest combined options/COT setup. Premarket update

The latest COT report was released October 2 and reflects positions as of September 29.

S&P 500 (SPX)

Direction: Bearish
Confidence: Medium
Options: Friday’s SPX/SPXW put/call volume ratio was 1.15, with 2.95 million puts versus 2.56 million calls. Put/call open interest was approximately 1.43, showing substantial downside hedging. The SPY proxy was even more defensive at roughly 2.1 puts per call across all expirations. Cboe options statistics, SPY positioning

COT: Non-commercial traders were net short 144,956 consolidated S&P futures, worsening by about 10,284 contracts during the week as longs fell and shorts increased. CFTC CME report

Levels: SPX closed at 7,722.72 Friday. In SPY terms, 765 is the October 16 max-pain area and 785 is the largest call-OI strike, implying overhead resistance before a clean continuation.
Rationale: Options protection and futures positioning agree on caution. Heavy puts can eventually become contrarian support, but the immediate risk/reward is slightly negative while yields are rising.

Nasdaq-100 (NDX)

Direction: Bullish
Confidence: Medium
Options: QQQ open interest was put-heavy at about 1.44 puts per call, but the October structure shows a clear 760 call concentration, with 725 max pain and substantial put OI at 700. This is defensive rather than outright capitulation. QQQ options positioning
COT: Non-commercial traders remained net long 45,396 consolidated Nasdaq-100 futures. The net long declined by approximately 6,950 contracts, so the bullish signal is positive but weakening. CFTC CME report
Levels: NDX closed at 30,807.93. QQQ closed at 749.58; 760 is the nearest meaningful options resistance, while 725 is the larger downside magnet.
Rationale: It is the only major index with a large speculative net-long position. Options hedging and this morning’s softer futures reduce confidence, but relative leadership remains favorable.

Russell 2000 (RUT)

Direction: Bearish
Confidence: Medium
Options: Cboe’s MRUT put/call volume ratio was 1.13, but only 113 contracts traded, so it is not robust. The liquid IWM proxy carries a much stronger defensive signal: a 2.45 put/call OI ratio, negative gamma, 280 nearest-expiration max pain, and a 294.31 gamma-flip level above the market. Cboe options statistics, IWM options positioning
COT: Non-commercial traders were net short 77,440 E-mini Russell futures. Shorts grew faster than longs during the latest week, increasing the net bearish position by about 1,657 contracts. CFTC CME report
Levels: RUT closed at 2,832.90. In IWM terms, 280 is the nearest options magnet; 294.31 is the more important upside regime-change level.
Rationale: Options and COT positioning both lean bearish. The crowded short creates squeeze risk, but sustained strength probably requires IWM to recover the gamma-flip region.

Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJI)

Direction: Neutral / mixed
Confidence: Low
Options: DJX and DJXW volume put/call ratios were 1.95 and 1.15, respectively, though direct index-option volume was thin. The more liquid DIA proxy was balanced: 1.19 put/call OI, 1.16 volume ratio, and 512 max pain, almost exactly at Friday’s 511.07 close. Cboe options statistics, DIA options positioning
COT: Non-commercial traders were net long 10,026 consolidated DJIA futures. Weekly long and short additions were almost identical, leaving the net position essentially unchanged. CFTC CBOT report
Levels: DJI closed at 51,176.96. DIA’s 512 max-pain level is the immediate pivot; 518 was Friday’s most-active nearby call strike.
Rationale: Bullish futures positioning is offset by defensive index-option flow. The Dow looks more likely to consolidate than establish a strong directional move.

Ranking: Most Bullish to Most Bearish

NDX — bullish, but the long is becoming less aggressive
DJI — neutral; modest positive COT offset by defensive options
SPX — bearish tilt from aligned put demand and speculative shorts
RUT — weakest combination of COT shorts, put-heavy OI, and negative gamma

The main intraday invalidation would be falling Treasury yields accompanied by NDX holding above Friday’s close and IWM recovering toward its gamma-flip level. Conversely, failure to hold Friday’s cash-market gains would reinforce the bearish SPX/RUT positioning.

🚨📈🎯RSP/SPX the equal weighted S&P500(RSP) over the Weighted S&P500(SPX) tells me if the market is widening to the while market or if the market is becoming more narrow or concentrated in the magnificent 7 in terms of price moving up. Yes the S&P500 is moving up, but it is highly concentrated im the hyperscalers or mag 7.

We can clearly see that the trade rotation is back into the AI hyperscalers like Meta, that just had a gamma squeeze of over 20%. Something similar to what happened to MSFT 2 weeks ago. I am pretty sure the next hyperscaler to make a breakout move like that of the hyperscalers will be GOOGL. GOOGL is trading at the lowest P/E valuation in decades. GOOGL also just pushed off of the weekly 200sma and backtested the Quarterly &Yearly VWAP.

GOOGL has also tested the bullish trendline 4 times now, with the last two tests being part of an inverted H&S. The bottom of the left shoulder and the head was Berkshire Hathaways new CEO Greg Abel deploying the largest amount of cash from Berkshire in years into GOOGL.

This all tracks with the market narrowing into the magnificent 7 stocks. Are you paying attention yet??

🚨📈BTC Wyckoff theory chart is telling the whole story. This is the breakout. The volume confirmed it. $59k was the bottom, amd volume confirmed absorption.

I called this bottom back on the spike down with the large wick the week of February 2nd and people got mad at me for speaking the truth and I was kicked from a few groups for having a different trading plan than what the group thought. I am a contrarian. My contrarian trading plan again ended up being correct as it was based on Wyckoff Theory telling me that would be the bottom. I also called the top perfectly, if you want to go back and look at my posts here on Facebook!

Some people just can't handle other people's opinions, especially when they are contrary to their own. Personally I find contrary people's opinions to my own the most interesting when it comes to the markets, especially if the other person can back up their market thesis with real data beyond the chart and the stocks price. Especially if if it is a long term hold, an investment or a position trade. Which to me is a minimum 1year hold of the asset to avoid short term capital gains tax.

I have to define the timeframe of the trade before I enter the trade, otherwise my money won't be working for me. A stocks price can sit in a range for years and if you have money sitting on that stock you are earning no money for years. For me moves need to happen in 12-30daysish when I am trading short term.

I am not quite a daytrader but I am also not a 30+years investor with the mindset to always be in the market. I would rather avoid the downturns and simple trend following strategies help with that, such as the Turtle trader's method of using 2 Donchain channels, a 55day and 20day for entries and exits. The real sauce of the turtle trading strategy was the way Richard Dennis, William Eckhart and their turtles managed their risk! Like any good trading strategy the risk management is the workhorse and backbone of the strategy, not the entry model!

If i could tell myself one thing when i started trading it would be how big of a role your risk management played in trading over the entry and exit strategy. I wish I had hyperfpcused on the risk management instead of the entry model because I would have been a profitable trader far earlier. If you are not profitable it isn't because of the entry strategy you are trading, it is 100% because you have no risk management strategy that you adhere to like your life literally depends on it.

Trading is about being able to make your money last through the drawdown until you hit the next trend. If you are a momentum swing trader this means not taking trend trades on range days. I am a bull and will always have a bullish bias because the USA stock market has always trended up. So i rarely take short positions, unless they are glaring obvious. I know what direction I trade better and I focus on what I do best. I would rather be really good at what I am naturally good at than work to be OK at something I am not naturally talented at and then relying on natural talent to balance everything out. Focus on what comea natural to you and the money will just follow! Trading isn't hard once you accept full responsibility for every action that you take in the markets and in life because you can't live your life one way and then trade another.

Everything in life needs to align towards the goal of being a trader. If you try to live your life without risk, you will never be able to trade because trading is about taking risks and to be honest those qho take the risks in life are the ones who are rewarded, not the ones who are the model employees. Be a model employee if you want am average life barely scraping by financially.

Remember one last thing as I habe seen a lot of anti-american sentiment in the trading space lately, which I believe is juat propaganda from the bricks nations, but remember as Warren Buffet said, never bet against America! 🇺🇲
