Here over the course of this past winter I decided to take the time and attend the AMPP Inspection Courses in Houston TX. Proud to say I completed levels 1 & 2 of the inspection program and got my Certified Coating Inspection Certification. This is a service I will be offering and venturing into more in the future. A great direction to be headed in this industry and I am looking forward to what it brings!

Project in western Iowa this past month. These seven 30,000 gallon anhydrous tanks got a nice face lift and will be good to go for many years to come. Industrial work like this is our main focus and I love seeing projects like this come together and end with excellent results.

We just finished up one of our larger projects to date.
We were contracted to sandblast and paint 350 fire hydrants for the the city of Grinnell, Iowa. This project took course over the past 3 weeks.

We started by sandblasting the 2-5 layers of old paint off the fire hydrants. Then we recoated them with an industry leading 2 part Polisiloxane in saftey red.

Typically fire hydrants are painted certain colors to notify fire departments of the pressure rating of each hydrant. Instead, these hydrants will maintain a single color and be fitted with a reflective plastic placard indicating the pressure. This cleans up the look of the fire hydrants and still provides the necessary information to emergency responders.

I am very happy with the outcome of this job! I am hoping to do more of this type of work in the future. If you would like to share this post I would appreciate it! You can look through the pictures to see how nice this job turned out.

Has been a very busy fall, currently working on a project in Grinnell Iowa blasting and painting fire hydrants and will have pictures of that soon.
In the mean time here are a few projects we have been working on lately. We finally have both blasting systems fully functional and has cut lead times down considerably on our larger projects.
The road grader in the pics has been in the fayette county road department for many years and has many miles behind it maintaining our county roads. This piece will be on display at the new Fayette County Shop and of course,
more anhydrous tanks for Five Star coop in New Hampton Iowa.

Another project in the books, these tanks were for Five Star Coop at their Hanlontown location. These will be good to go for a long while. All of the tanks were sandblasted, Epoxy Primed and finished with a High gloss polyurethane from HIS Paints.

Running gears got primed and painted saftey red and HIS Polyurethane High Hide White for the tanks!

With our season starting to ramp up we will have a lot more work coming through the shop as well as running our mobile rigs. Here’s a trailer we blasted, epoxy primed and finished with a Sher-Kem Enamel Top coat. This kind of work we can do at our shop and with the addition of the 40x60’ Blasting and painting booth coming soon everything will become much more efficient. We have a very full season ahead so now is the time to get on the schedule!
Also if you or anyone you know is looking for summer work feel free to send them my way.
We are flexible and hiring for the 2023 season with the option for long term employment as well. Some overnight travel would be required.
