A message from Christine:
Thank you everyone for the outpouring of love and support. Even if I'm not immediately taking you up on offers for help (I have an excellent support system holding me up right now), just know that everything all of you have said and all the love you've shared about Michael Weavil is bringing my heart some comfort.
He often would say that he felt like he was alone in the world other than me and the boys, but you all have proven him so, so wrong. He put his heart and soul into our business, and he didn't realize just how much he affected so many people's lives and communities. Even when HFD and the paramedics were here, they recognized us as the ones who does HFD's gear.
As of right now, I am honoring his wishes to not have funeral services. He often would remind me that he thought they were a waste of money and that he wanted to be cremated instead.
We also will be keeping 1856 Productions open, honoring the legacy of hard work that he put into the business to get it going and keep it going for 20 years. We don't know what that will look like going forward or in what capacity right now.
In lieu of sending flowers, please consider supporting your local youth sports organizations (baseball, softball, football, etc.) or Scouting, both of which were things that were close to Mike's heart and allowed him to give back to his community. Your support of these organizations that were near and dear to Mike means so much more than sending flowers.
Hold your loved ones close. Tell them you love them every day, because tomorrow isn't promised. Even if you think they know, tell them anyway. Because the one thing that is leaving me feeling hollow is that I don't know if Mike died knowing just how much the boys and I love him, and always will. I would tell him whenever we talked on the phone, but he always said it first. I now have to learn to live with half my heart, half my soul missing.
For those who would like to help, we are on CareDash. It will help us to provide us dinners until I can get back into the swing of meal planning and cooking.
If CareDash doesn’t work (it’s new and kinda buggy), you can send gift cards by text to (510) 861-0931 (my cell number).
