Mondays are for fresh starts and fresh rebrands that make local legends even more recognizable βœ¨πŸ‘πŸ‘“ We started with a mood board, sent out an employee questionnaire to get team members' input on the brand voice and imagery, captured the owners' vision, and ended the project with a beautiful new website that works as hard as they do! Always so grateful when friends trust us to do what we do best!

It's gameday! 🏈 Tonight is our first scrimmage of the season, and whew the butterflies are real this morning. My husband is the offensive coordinator here. While he loves being on the field during the games, the best spot for him is in the booth. Why? Because he can see the whole field.

I've played sports my entire life and been with Austin almost 10 years now. If there's one thing I know, wins aren't made in one play, or even one day (even though it feels like that sometimes). The best coaches work so far in advance and learn to see the entire field, at practice and in the game. It's how you learn to anticipate what's coming next, where the next best move is, who's coming for you, and how to score.

This is how I work. Most creatives are just that, creative. Lucky for you, I am creative but also am obsessed with numbers. Nothing lights me up more than hearing from a client about sales increasing or figuring out where a bottleneck in operations is. This is the difference when working with EK Creative. Most creatives just watch the ball, but we watch the whole field.

Let's go! πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

My brain does not clock out. Ever. Even poolside, no agenda. I am likely thinking of the next best business idea, logo design, sponsorship idea, etc. It's just how my brain works. Ironically enough, the BEST ideas come to me when I am actually completely clocked out. If creativity doesn't come easy to you, that's okay, you can trust that it does for us.

Honestly, some clients don't need day to day work, they need someone to think through the big ideas, the planning, strategy, game plan, and vision and truthfully, we LOVE that, too.

Chopped my hair off recently and still can't get over it. Obsessed, honestly. Sitting in the chair, I relied a lot on the cosmetologist who has been doing hair for 14 years to make expert decisions based on my face shape, skin tone, etc. I trusted her to do the job I was paying her to do. At the time, this was a big change for me, one I could have never and should have never tried to DIY. The same is true for your marketing. Why would you ever? To save a buck? At whose expense?

Your businesses' future depends on the quality of marketing you are doing now. Every business professional will tell you that the decisions you make today impact your life (or quality of life) 90 days from now. So yeah, the AI flyers and captions might not hurt now, but they will later. Trust me, the expert. πŸ€ͺ Don't chop your own hair, and don't chatGPT your marketing, please.

Kickoff is next Friday, and whew, that sounds crazy to say. I've said it before, but my family functions better during the season, clearly, as I'm back posting for the first time in literal months.

One of the hardest parts about being a coaches' wife is that the only thing most people see is Friday nights, but that's not the whole picture. The foundation is built Monday-Thursday, the part that no one else sees. Business is the same way. So many times, all we see is the highest highs or lowest lows, but we haven't seen the literal blood, sweat and tears, the marketing decisions, the bank transfers, or the closed door meetings, that it took to get there.

Here's the bottom line: you can't have Fridays without Monday-Thursdays, good or bad. It takes both. When you work with EK Creative, we are not just another company posting "pretty things" on your social media. We want to be a part of your every day - what is working, what's not, and how can we really help AND THEN we build social media. The most successful clients that we work with understand this: you write the game plan first, you have long practices, you have team meetings, and THEN comes Friday night.

Here's to the season πŸˆπŸ†

Over the last couple of years, I've really began to notice how so much of my life overlaps. All of it - the hosting, cooking, planning, marketing, it's really all me being creative in different facets of life.

And when I host, like a Masters watch party for example, I pay attention to every detail. Because details matter. Yes, that's golf balls and tees in the bottom of this vase. Could I have used green moss, leaves, or something more simple? Sure. But details matter. It matters that all of these books are actually golf books and not just books with green covers.

The same is true with your business: no matter what others tell you, the details DO matter. It matters how you speak to customers. It matters when you choose to send that follow up email. It matters how your brand shows up visually online. It matters how you position your offering, and it matters how you strategically partner with other businesses in your area. Because in case you don't know, none of us have long attention spans, so you better get specific. Find what makes you memorable and make it unforgettable, over and over again.

Whatever the detail about your business is that makes you a little bit nervous is probably the one you should start sharing, so let's start there πŸ€ͺ

A hunting plantation, fencing company, local hospital, and local bar. All recent clients. Most people will tell you that we should pick a niche. But here? Never. That would literally take the fun out of the job for us. But here's the difference: most companies would try to put each client into the same box, but not us. We understand that the same strategy we build for one cannot be used for another because their customers are different.

We think of every brand that comes to us with their own game plan you know. What (or who) are you trying to win? Who's on the other side of the field (competitors)? What lights you up and what's just noise? Who is actually paying your bills (not who you want to)? The answers to these questions determine the strategy and actions moving forward.

You're not a template. Your game plan shouldn't be one either. 🏈

Every year, this photo pops up on my Snapchat memories from when I snapped it on my mom's porch as we were flipping through old scrapbooks. Every year, it stops me in my tracks 1) because it makes me giggle and 2) it reminds me how I literally have always been ALL or nothing, full steam ahead, go hard or not at all. It's the way I live my life, work with clients, and handle every project I work on.

Somewhere along the way I think our culture has gotten it so wrong. Somewhere, something shifted to, "everybody wins" aka no one has to try. I'm not sorry at all, but you will never get that here. This past year, there have been challenging times in the industry with the rise of AI, everyone immersed in DIY culture, and "marketing companies" coming out of the woodworks, but one thing is true, we will always be trying our best and going full steam ahead. We have real standards, real goals, and real vision, in everything that we do, not just EK Creative work, but in our personal lives as well.

When you work with EK Creative, you won't get just another checked box or participation trophy, you get two honest women doing honest work, all out, all the time. Because we play to win, and when YOU get ready to win (even with AI), let a girl know πŸ†πŸ˜‰

Your summer CAN look like this! After almost six years of working with clients, we've found that where we thrive isn't just crafting beautiful social media posts (of course we definitely can do that), but it's actually in developing long term success strategies and thinking outside the box to grow sales, implement promotions, exclusive offerings, etc for our clients. That's where the value of our service lies. So yeah, your summer can definitely look like this.

No more stressing on your supposedly peaceful beach walk. No more missing games to catch up. No more checking your website poolside. We can handle it. πŸ’ͺ🏼🌴🌊
