I’ve been working on a new free vacation comparison app.

The idea came from trying to plan the next family vacation.

You can find hotels, cars, flights, activities before long, everything is scattered across browser tabs, screenshots, messages and random notes. Heck, you might even know where you're really going, but want to explore options.

This app is intentionally simple (hopefully🤞🏻)

It gives you one place to build out different vacation ideas, organize the costs and links, and compare them so you can make a more confident decision.

It’s not trying to book the trip for you.

It’s really just a better way to answer:

“Which option actually makes the most sense for us?”

The app will be completely free for now. It's very much in early stages and has room for improvement, but curious if it will help anyone else.

It’s also a PWA, which simply means it works like a normal website, but you can add it to your phone’s home screen and open it like an app. There’s nothing to download from the App Store.

On iPhone:
Open the site in Safari → tap Share → Add to Home Screen.

On Android:
Open the site in Chrome → tap the menu → Add to Home Screen or Install App.

The current name is Joyage, although that may change because another travel company is already using the name.

🚨 SCAM ALERT: THESE CALLS CAN FEEL VERY REAL 🚨

We recently encountered a scam attempt involving a caller using fear, urgency, and highly specific details to create panic and pressure immediate action.

The caller:
• Called from an unknown number
• Claimed serious legal consequences
• Provided information that sounded legitimate
• Overwhelmed the conversation with details to reduce clear decision-making
• Pressured for immediate compliance

This is intentional psychological manipulation.

One important reminder:

🚔 Police departments do NOT typically handle warrant matters over the phone.
🚔 They do NOT demand payment by phone, gift card, debit card, or parking lot meetup.
🚔 Legitimate agencies generally will not call from unknown numbers demanding immediate action.

Scammers rely on panic to bypass logic. Even smart, cautious people can get caught off guard when fear and urgency take over.

If you receive a suspicious call:
• Hang up immediately
• Do not provide personal or financial information
• Independently call the agency using their publicly listed number
• Talk to someone you trust before acting under pressure

Awareness is one of the best defenses we have.

Please share this with parents, grandparents, employees, friends, and anyone who may feel pressured in a high-stress moment.

🚨 Scam texts are getting better and better.

I got this text today claiming to be from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet about “unpaid toll charges” and threatening license suspension, penalties, and legal action.

At first glance, it looked legit… but here’s what gave it away:

❌ Came from a random phone number (904 area code = Florida, not Kentucky)

❌ Used fear tactics like:
“Ultimate Enforcement Notice”
“Immediate Remittance Required”
“Legal Enforcement”

❌ The website was fake:
It used “ky.gov” in the link to trick people.

Example:
Real: drive.ky.gov
Fake: ky.gov-noi.help

The actual website is everything AFTER the last dot before the slash.

❌ No personal details:
No plate number.
No account number.
No actual toll road listed.

Most government agencies don’t text legal threats. They usually send notices by mail.

Before clicking any link:

1. Check the sender
2. Read the URL carefully
3. Watch for urgent threats
4. Look for missing personal/account details
5. Go directly to the official website instead of clicking

Stay alert. These scams are getting very convincing.
