We print the finish before we know the size. That order matters more than most photographers realize.
When you send us a Metal Print order, the finish choice locks in before dimension. Not because of our workflow. Because the finish changes how the image reads.
Clear Gloss has no white base layer. The aluminum shows through every transparent area of your file. That is why it works for high-contrast black and white compositions. The metal becomes part of the tonal range.
White Gloss sits on a bonded white coating. Light reflects back through the dye-sublimation layer. That base changes how midtones separate in portraits and how sky gradients hold.
White Gloss EXT uses the same process with an outdoor-rated coating. Five years of direct sun per ChromaLuxe specs. We have mounted these on exterior walls in full desert light.
One honest trade-off: on a very dark low-key image a high-gloss metal finish can swallow the most subtle shadow separation. Clear Gloss or fine art paper will hold more of that quiet detail.
Every Metal Print here is produced on the Epson SureColor F6470 with UltraChrome DS dye-sublimation inks in a six-color configuration. Light Cyan and Light Magenta are in the set for smooth tonal transitions across skin and sky. ChromaLuxe HD aluminum panels. Standoff hardware and French cleats installed in-house in Henderson, Nevada.
