Thank you so much to Book Publicity Services Inc. and Sarah Branson for gifting us this copy of A Pirates’ Pact!

This book drew me in and I finished it in one sitting! Set in the future, the story follows fraternal twins Kik and Mac (who couldn’t be more different) as they embark on an unexpected treasure hunt. Along the way, they defend each other against bullies, gain confidence in themselves, and strengthen their bond as brothers. The story had the perfect amount of adventure and suspense for me, although there wasn’t as much about pirates as I anticipated. I loved how their older sister came to their rescue multiple times without teasing or making them feel bad about it. It was nice to see an older sibling being genuinely supportive of younger siblings. I also enjoyed Mac’s development throughout the book; from starting out as someone who sought out his friends’ approval while overlooking their bigotry, to someone who learned the traits of a true friend. This was an enjoyable adventure story with a nice message woven in!
