🌟 More Than a Meal: Bringing Food, Books, and Fun to Local Kids 🌟
This week, we're shining a spotlight on the incredible volunteers who make our Summer Lunch & Learn Program possible!
When school is out, many children lose access to the meals they receive during the school day. Thanks to our amazing volunteers and community partners, we're able to bring nutritious meals directly into the communities where kids need them most.
🍎 Every Tuesday, volunteers at The Corner Table prepare sandwiches and pack approximately 70 to-go-bags for children in the Maiden community. Our friends at Catawba Valley Baptist Church then pick up those meals and distribute them to local children and families.
🍎 Every Wednesday, another dedicated group of volunteers serves a hot meal at our Conover Lunch & Learn site, where we welcome an average of 40 children each week. We are also grateful for our partnership with the Catawba County Library, whose Library To Go program brings books and activities, helping keep young minds active all summer long.
These programs simply would not happen without the volunteers who prepare meals, pack bags, serve food, transport supplies, greet families, and create a welcoming environment for every child.
Because of their generosity, we're able to take food beyond our walls and into neighborhoods throughout our community, ensuring children have access to meals even when school is not in session.
