We warmed up the 3D printer recently for a run of houses for a friend who wanted to create replicas of childhood homes for his family for Christmas. He used TinkerCAD to build the 3D models, a free online CAD system that's easy for anyone to learn and use.

Last week we were invited to conduct a 3D printing educational event at the Kreps Middle School. A lot of the students had never seen a 3D printer before. We printed adaptive bottle cap openers for the disabled, which one student with a broken thumb was immediately able to beta test for us, and each student made a 3D printed key chain with the Kreps cougar on it to take home. Toshi Station Dry Goods has a new original design for a car cup holder, designed to fit snugly on your car's driver and passenger door map pockets. Made of sturdy heat-resistant ABS plastic, our cup holder is designed to hold standard-sized small and large fast food cups, water bottles, etc. As opposed to the center console, our cup holder sits in a better location for driver accessibility.

This is perfect for cars made with insufficient cup holders, and we will custom-fit for any door pocket. Now that no one uses maps, what else are you going to use those pockets for?

The cup holder shown is black, 3.5" tall by 3.5" across, 5" across with handle, and designed to securely hook onto a door pocket 16mm thick.

$20 for each, or $35 for two (one for each side), and send the width of your map pocket wall when ordering. Remove cup holder when exiting vehicle.

We 3D printed the Gayer-Anderson cat from a scanned file. The Gayer-Anderson cat is an Ancient Egyptian statue of the cat-goddess Bastet made out of bronze, from about 600 BC.

Look closely and you'll see she's wearing jewellery and a protective amulet. 8" tall.

As the owner of a historic home with an antique doorbell no one born in the last 100 years seems to be able to figure out how to ring, I thought about ordering engraved signage with instructions. But why would I do that when I have a 3D printer?
