SAVE THE DATE! October 15 at 3:00pm– Town Council Meeting Let’s pack the room for the future of Hilton Head Island! Our children, pets, wildlife, and the health of our community need you to show up and make your voice heard. This vote will shape our island for generations, and we cannot allow the pesticide industry’s influence to seep into this policy. After years of discussions, we finally have the chance to adopt real pesticide safeguards for our dog parks, playgrounds, ball fields, and beaches!
Thanks to the leadership of Mayor Perry and Councilmember Brison, we’re on the verge of a policy that protects our public spaces from harmful chemicals. But we need your help to ensure it’s the right policy FREE from pesticide industry influence.
Last July Councilmember Brison shared with the Mayor in our meeting that the policy should include: transparency, accountability, notifications, record keeping, pesticide safeguards, and reduction goals—all essential for protecting the environment that makes Hilton Head so special.
Be part of this historic vote! Even if you don’t plan to speak, your presence alone will have a powerful impact. Let’s show our elected officials that this public health challenge is an opportunity to make Hilton Head a leader in environmental protection. A policy free of industry influence that prioritizes the health and safety of our wildlife, pets, children, and island will boost tourism and the local economy long-term, but it will also increase property values, making our island an even more desirable place to live and visit. Public funds should be going towards protecting our island, not poisoning it.
If you want to speak, sign the sheet to the right of the door when you enter Town Hall.
