The courtyard is not a luxury. It is a containment area.
Every day, Lillian must be released into the courtyard to recharge. She is almost entirely solar powered.

Without this critical process, she becomes increasingly difficult to manage. Side effects may include excessive sarcasm and the inability to tolerate one more unnecessary email or sales pitch. We’re looking directly at you, Dan.

We all need a break sometimes. We just make extra sure Lillian gets hers for the safety of the general public.

We found out today is National Leave the Office Early Day, via extremely official sources (one suspiciously enthusiastic coworker.)

So, we’re handling it the only responsible way possible: we’re leaving. There is currently no emergency protocol for this because we didn’t think this far ahead.

We’re headed to the pool but we’ll be back tomorrow at 9:00 AM sharp, pretending we respect authority. We are actively encouraging you—yes YOU—to shut your laptop, abandon your desk, and walk out like you just remembered you locked your cat in the bedroom.
