Hats, love them or hate them?

The highest point of authority is the head: think crown, military caps. Stands to reason if you are going to wear a hat, it can make or break your look.

Some hats are formal: weddings, Kentucky Derby, Ascot, Palace Garden Party. 🎩👒

Some hats are casual: sports hats, sun hats, cowboy hats (some of these are dressy). 🧢🤠👩‍🌾

Some hats are for work: 🪖⛑️💂‍♂️🧑‍✈️👮🧑‍🍳

When you can choose the hat you wear you need to consider color, scale and personality.

Do you need large or small, structured or unstructured, smooth textured, lots of additional details like bows, feathers, florals, ribbons?

You are unique and the hats that work for you will be determined by your style personality.

Have a look through the slides to see different scales of hats and notice which ones work and which ones don’t.

I need a medium to large scale hat with lower crown and larger brim generally. Texture is important and nothing too fussy.

Green, my favorite color, which is lucky as Autumn 🍂 has so many greens to choose from!

Associated with nature, green is thought to promote calm and represent nurture, nature, and prosperity.

Autumn 🍂 greens range from light Sage, to olive 🫒, moss, grass and lime 🍋‍🟩

Spring 🌱 greens represent new life with mint and apple to Kerry and leaf 🍃

Summer ☀️greens are blue based and can be found in variations of jade and teals.

Winter ❄️ greens are icy, emeralds and deep pines 🌲

Greens are often tricky for clients to identify so it is best to compare different greens online or in person to work out the undertones.

Sasha bid on her color analysis to help support her friend who was raising funds for .

She came in expecting to learn a thing or two but I am certain that she left with more than she expected!

Sasha had been told in the past that she was probably a cool summer, but the drapes revealed that she is a golden paintbox spring 🌷. She needs clear, bright, warm colors not cool, soft, muted ones.

We confirmed gold is her best metal- her gorgeous engagement ring 💍 is perfect.

We also talked bridesmaids dresses and florals as she is currently planning a wedding 💒.

Sasha even loved the Guava cream blush we tried.

Added bonus, when she got home her fiancé , who doesn’t love makeup, loved the natural look we created in the studio.
