Hi, I’m Mark.👋 Here is a little intro to my background in racket sports.🎾🏓

I am a certified tennis and pickleball coach living in Holland, Michigan. I am passionate about people and racket sports. I have been playing tennis for over 20 years. While at West Ottawa High School, I was a Varsity Division 1 Conference and Regional champion and competed in the Michigan State Finals. In my senior year in high school, I suffered an injury that prevented me from making the team. I thought one day I’d play in college. Instead, I served my country in the Air Force.

During my time in service, I didn’t give up the game of tennis. I volunteered my time teaching fellow service members how to play tennis, which sparked my passion for teaching others. I have also competed at a high level in table tennis and have won several tournaments throughout my life—on cruise ships, at the Holland Civic Center, and even deployed overseas.

I was introduced to pickleball in 2019, it was an immediate fit. I first discovered it when Hugh Davis, founder of Revolin Sports, invited me to play a pickleball tournament with him. I picked up the sport quickly and naturally due to my tennis and ping pong background.

I have been coaching group and private lessons for over five years through Play Your Court and MVP Sports Club. I am certified by the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) and the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR).

I have seen the demand in tennis and pickleball to start my business Lakeshore Sports Coaching So far the spring has been treating me well and I am even more excited about summer. I was a devastated 17-year-old when I did not make the tennis team. Still, it was that exact failure for me to embark on a journey that would set the course for me to be on the court today, getting to share the great sports of tennis and pickleball with the amazing people of West Michigan. I thank God I can do what I love.
