Over the past few weeks, I've had several customers ask about T-shirt weights, so I thought this would be a great opportunity to explain what those numbers actually mean. When you see a shirt listed as 4.5 oz., 5.3 oz., or 6.1 oz., what's the difference, and does heavier necessarily mean better? Not at all! Weight affects how a shirt feels, fits, and wears, but the type of cotton, how it's spun, and how the fabric is finished can make just as much difference. A heavyweight shirt can still be incredibly soft, while a lightweight shirt can be surprisingly durable. Here's a quick guide to help you understand the differences and choose the right shirt for your next project!
