Dear Della had twins today. First time mama and she is rocking it. We weren’t sure, at first, if she was even taking them but it turns out she’s just not a helicopter mom. She’s a good mom. So excited for these little lambs. Della is the daughter of a very special old dude named Guinness. Now, I’m really thinking of keeping the boy for a flock ram…hmmmm 😁😁

Ahhh, Vita, AKA Rowdy. She is a pretty special one. She had twins, one girl (standing) and one big boy. The boy is gonna be special too because he’s the first boy, this year, from my boy Louie. I didn’t post about Louie because I just did not want to. He was my man, a ram that I never had to worry about and he always got his job done. The past 2 years I could see him going down hill. His hips were getting old and he just wasn’t always his spunky self. A few weeks ago, he went down and would not/could not get back up. I made the decision to end his suffering, him and I talked about it. I loved him so very much and it was so hard to see him suffering. It was hard and I didn’t much feel like talking about it. I know it’s part of the whole raising animals thing but still doesn’t make it any easier. So, I’m gonna name this little guy Louise, in honor of his sire.

First time mama, Eloise (the former house lamb), gave birth to these beautiful twins this afternoon. She wasn’t sure about this mothering thing and kinda did a drop and run with them. Jeremy was home and had to get the little boy warm, and got Eloise tied up so that babies could drink. Little girl, black one, took right off but little guy must’ve been born first and was in the cold longer. I came home shortly after Jeremy left and when I went down, little guy was full of energy and ready to drink. I tied Eloise up and babies got their bellies full. I then spent some time chatting with my dear Eloise, explaining how she’s got to take care of these babies. She also got some extra loving during my stern talk. After I untied her, she went and started cleaning them off. Wow. Hope she keeps that up and I won’t need to tie her up every couple hours. 🙏🙏
