Reflecting on my journey… Those of you who have been around here for a while, might remember my story of how I got my start shooting weddings! 📸
It was a humble beginning, with a canon rebel i FILM camera and a craigslist listing for photo sessions. Pretty sure I charged $300 to shoot 8-10 rolls of film- bear in mind, these were developed at Walgreens and you could pick up a roll of film for $2.99?? This was the early 2000’s people!
I did gigs like this throughout my college career, where I was taking photo classes, and cutting my teeth on the art-making-process as a whole… There were lots of embarrassing charcoal self portraits, slicing my hand open in sculpture, and painstakingly learning adobe creative suite - love bless Flagler College Design Class of 2008! 🥰
Where I really got the majority of my experience and confidence, was second shooting with my former college professor. I’d assist him on commercial gigs, learning studio lighting and all the techy gear stuff and second shot beach weddings for several summers in my college town, St. Augustine, FL.
So happy with where I’ve ended up 😇
