LarvickMedia Professional video production and photography services specializing in dogital firat impressions for marketing I say films because that’s what it feels like.

In 2009 I picked up my first (semi)professional camera, the Canon 5D mark ii, because of the wonderful video capabilities it promised. I’m not sure even Canon knew just how good of a job they had done. Soon after getting used to the new camera (a major jump from my former Rebel 400D) I knew I could create some pretty special: Films. Whether it was a trip to the zoo or a contracted project I felt I

was creating film. I have always been artistic, creative. This used to be with pencils or paint or a block of wood. But I’ve found a new passion. I try to create beauty out of everything I do…even if it’s an interview or a training video. My real passions now are with a cinematic style of advertising for businesses and beautiful, story driven wedding films. In either case you won’t find anything run of the mill here. If it’s for your business we’ll create something that leaves people craving what you have. If it’s your wedding we’ll create a wonderful, cinematic experience of your special day that you’ll want to watch again and again. I'm privileged to be able to shoot in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, in Hood River, Oregon.

Dustin asked me to help tell a story that had been developing for years and had, essentially, already happened. I wasn’t there to film “the action.” But through some storytelling, archival footage and photos, etc., we can still tell the story of “Gene’s Ashes.”

I’ve had the privilege of knowing these young peeps for a long time now. And now they’re about to graduate! I had a fun time shooting some announcement photos for these two. Well done and congrats on nearing the finish line!

Pretty much anytime I’m in Portland, this is one of my stops!

Shooting portraits today for some of my BNI chapter members. Are any of my friends interested in exploring relationship based referral marketing?

I’m sharing these recent shots I did with .re because they represent something. All of these are outdoor shots. One is obvious, but the others could quickly be mistaken for studio shots, no? but I knew my location would afford a certain type of light and some fun backgrounds. Then, with 2 portable lights I was able to augment the available light and get him a first round of basic headshots for his aspiring real estate business while also bringing some creativity to them. Do you agree? Disagree?

As I sit waiting for my teeth to be cleaned…

Once upon a time a very talented photographer named Carl Zoch did a superbly creative portrait shoot for a dental office. Then young Carl moved to a far away land called Mawn-Tan-uh. But alas, new hires were made at Schmidt Dental Center! What’s a dentist to do?

Ok, storybook time over. This just to say, trying to precisely replicate shots another photographer has taken in order to retain uniformity—TOUGH! It may seem simple, but Carl and I talked through every detail I could think of and I still had to do a few things in Photoshop to ultimately match the original set.

So! Thanks to for helping maintain the creative uniformity. And thanks to for keeping the teeth in my head and also trusting me with their images.
