We've been talking with a couple clients about all the ways their potential customers connect with their businesses. It's vital that we implement some cross-channel marketing once our business is established. If we build the business on social, for example, that's great.. but at some point we should take a long hard look into things like SEO and website traffic, email marketing, print ads, live chat features, or maybe a remarketing strategy.
Some facts we all know to be true: Social platforms can come and go, and post reach and interactions get wonky sometimes... paying for a website but having no way of driving traffic can be a total bummer... putting out a killer email blast, with an awesome open rate, but not having a user-friendly place for those subscribers to purchase your product (thus not being able to convert a sale) is beyond frustrating!
As business owners, we cannot put all of our eggs in one basket. From word of mouth referrals, to web traffic, social feeds, snail mail and everything in between... it all has its place and works together to keep that small business momentum rolling!
This spring, make a list of your marketing channels. Ensure they all work together seamlessly, and if you only happen to have a few, maybe look into adding a couple more. Just one new channel a year...
